Maroon coloration. On the nose, cherry, florals, leather, minerals, and vanilla. On the palate, cherry, red berry, earth, minerals, stronger acidity and tannins present but not overpowering. A Barolo with more finesse than power. — 2 months ago

Langhe Nebbiolo 2023

This is a nice little snack. The wine pours a very pale ruby color. Cherries and rose petals on the nose. Zippy flavors of sour cherries and tart raspberries. Medium tannins, and a fairly good exit. If I had to complain, I would say there's an unduly amount of alcohol burn that gets on top of the fruit. But it's really hitting the spot.
Still listening to Neil Young.

Barbaresco Nebbiolo

I had a bottle of this tonight at a restaurant in New York. It’s showed delicious notes of raspberries, violet, and some orange peel. It was a little bit open knit for such a young vintage, perhaps not as complex and structured as I would expect, which makes this a “drink now” proposition imo. — 7 days ago

Barbera d'Alba 2024

Clear, pale ruby in color. On the nose, it's clean with pronounced intensity primary and secondary aromas of cherry, raspberry, and smoke. On the palate, it's dry with high acidity, low tannins, medium alcohol, medium body, and pronounced primary and secondary flavors of tart cherry, hibiscus, and wet slate with a medium finish. This wine is intense, complex, and with enough fruit to balance the acidity. Overall, I would rate this wine as very good. — 2 months ago

Riserva Pora Barbaresco Nebbiolo 2017

Popped and poured; enjoyed over he course of a few of hours The 2017 Riserva “Pora” pours a deep garnet color with medium+ viscosity and no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of Bing cherry, rhubarb, dried orange peel, tomato leaf, espresso, some tar, a bit of leather and dried earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with high tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. Of all the vineyards that get selected for Produttori’s Riservas, Pora is the MGA for which I have the least experience. Lack of experience with Pora aside, this is empirically an attractive Barbaresco Riserva. Still early days. Drink now through 2042. Bottle No. 5118/13333. — 10 days ago

Perhaps the best Barbera I’ve tastes. Bright sweet floral on opening. Very nice on opening - amazing day 2. Big, complex, packed with layers of silky smooth flavors. Cheries, cinnamon, cocoa, fig, citrus, leather and soft clove on the finish. — 10 days ago
