A bit lean, but a serious wine. The dark fruit is there; when you open it a chalky/ powdery note too. Improves with air. — a month ago
At The [Running] Footman in Mayfair with Sly and Eugene. This was a great Pomerol. Lush but balanced; a ripe style with earthy notes. Good with our Scottish roast beef ... — 2 months ago

Maybe an off night, but I found this disappointing. A too-sweet note when first opened, dissipates but I didn't think this ever found the right balance. Too smooth, no precise flavors. — 22 days ago
Clearly opened this 5 years too soon. Tannic, with fruit showing through. Good structure under there. — a month ago

Smooth tannins, nice damp earth and fruit notes on the nose. Good value at $22. — a month ago
Pretty austere, but a good bottle. — a month ago
A gift from Leo, at Alba's, to Sayer. As of yet unconsumed... — 2 months ago

A really satisfying wine, heavy on the merlot. The key for these ripe merlot-based CA wines is some structure and discernable second-tier flavors behind the overwhelming dark fruit and alcohol. This one delivers - blueberries on the nose initially, with chocolate cake, earth, and cinnamon. Had sampled the 2018 last year; this far better. — 8 days ago
