Medium garnet core with quite wide terracotta rim . Quite sweet , slightly dried fruit nose , plum , dark cherry and some spice hints, a touch oxidative also , this has a lot of age to it . On the palate dried plum, cherry , sous bois , hint of menthol and dried spices . Balanced acidity but slightly angular tannins . Ok medium length. A curiosity , but still drinkable . Clinging on to life but it’s best years were probably over a decade ago — 2 days ago

Medium deep ruby garnet core and garnet rim. Sweet plummy fruit , touch of spice and vanilla , violets . On the palate round and ripe with plum , damson , dark cherry and black tea hints . Balanced acidity , quite rounded tannins , touch of warmth on the anis tinged finish . This is firmly in its drinking window and shows it can stay at this level for a while longer , now and over the next 5 years. — 2 days ago

Violet pink rim with ruby core , slightly hazy appearance. Aromatic and fruit driven on the nose with raspberry and red cherry notes . On the palate a bit funky with a slight spritz , sour cherry and raspberry , sweet strawberry notes . Balanced quite fresh acidity and light tannins , slightly short fruity finish . Very simple and fruit driven , but well made , a good alternative to a white if served slightly chilled with light food. Drink now — 8 days ago

Bright ruby garnet with quite narrow garnet rim . Quite closed at first with mineral , cassis , sous bois , cigar box , touch of smoke . On the palate very intense with lots of cigar box tinged cassis , blackberry , cedar , coffee. Gritty but integrated tannins , fresh acidity . Very long and complex on the finish . This is still young but is starting to show what it can do , perfectly balanced and enormously long . Precise and for Las Cases very elegant . Now and for the next 10-15 years . — 11 days ago

Intense and deep ruby , garnet tinged rim . Quite intensely fruited , cassis , spiced blackberry , blueberry . On the palate lots of cassis and blackcurrant character , blueberry notes , roasted pepper and touch of wood spice . High tannin , lots of grip , with just balanced acidity and alcohol . Quite dense and serious on the finish . Needs a bit more time to fully integrate but promising . Better in 5 years and will last well a further 5-10 — 2 days ago

Medium garnet , terracotta rim . Quite intense tobacco , cassis , earthy blackberry , coffee. On the palate the fills out ok , with some dusty tobacco tinged dark fruits , slightly austere and rather dry tannins , just starting to dry out on the finish . Quite fresh acidity , ok length . This is at the end of its drinking window and is actually quite a good example of Sociando Mallet , a little rustic but commendable for the vintage . Quite light ruby , wide garnet , terracotta rim . Fruit forward , with red cherry , strawberry , rose , pomegranate with sweet spices , anis . On the palate lovely sweet cherry , strawberry , light red fruits , crunchy with quite fresh acidity . Polished and sweet , but very present tannins , this is still very young. Saline and sweet spice tinged finish , good length. This is drinking well, however is still very fruit driven and just improved throughout the evening . From now but will improve over the next 5-10 years and last well a further 10, especially in magnum. — 9 days ago

Quite light garnet , wide terracotta rim , more delicate and lighter than expected . High toned sweet , confected spiced strawberry nose, with a slightly smoky hint. On the palate sweet red strawberry , raspberry and red cherry notes , touches of spice and anis , but elegant and silky in texture , with very fine , rounded tannins and fresh acidity . This has good length , detailed and precise finish with anis , fruit pastels and almost chalky hints . Elegant and refined. Very distinctive, really quite unique in style , but very well made and enjoyable at the moment . Drink from now for the next 5-10 years. — 2 days ago

Medium garnet ruby , garnet rim . Quite earthy , tobacco , grafite and spicy cassis nose. On the palate more of the tobacco , dusty cassis and earthy character of the nose slightly hollow and a little drying tannin , balanced acidity . Slightly short , dusty tobacco finish . Drink now , probably would have been a little better a couple of years ago , now is missing a bit of fruit on the mid palate — 8 days ago

Golden , orange tinged centre , lemon yellow rim . Very aromatic, clementines, orange rind , saffron , creme brûlée , caramel. On the palate rich and intense but with very good balance from fresh acidity . Orange syrup , saffron creme brûlée with a slight burnt caramel touch on the finish . Long and powerful , this is ready but will carry on at this level for another 10-20 years — 11 days ago
