Had never heard of this winery until we visited TOR in Napa in 2023 and wheeler farms is their de facto winery

Started off a bit tight and then opened up and was solid fruit with smooth delivery about 1 hour in. Shut back down and went darker at hour 3. Good wine but expected more

Followed a trio of Barolo with truffles and a magnificent dinner

This bottle paired with chocolate mousse and was a bit unfair but it held up and was a good change of pace to provide more grip

Smells like it’s a brand new young wine with wild and fragrant fruit.

But at first sip you get the age and depth of the wine that has the fruit hiding beneath some good structure.

Im nervous it froze a bit or was affected by weather for new years. Will never know

There was a slight bitterness at first. It faded with air time.

Holy smokes

3rd of the trio barolos served with truffle dinner

This wine was seriously tertiary. It was mistaken for a Madeira or sherry or port for its dessert like flavors and sweetness though it had no sugar

From double magnum. The 2nd such bottle from auction

Cork survived and bottle was opened at 230 for a 6pm dinner. First pour at 430pm and this wine was showing nicely.
