Medium deep ruby , quite narrow rim . Cedar tinged blackberry and blackcurrant fruit , truffle notes . Pencil lead , tobacco and grafite also . On the palate medium bodied with nice balanced acidity , polished tannin . Blackcurrant , cedar , truffle , mineral grafite notes . Quite classic and really enjoyable now . This can obviously go further though good now and over the next 10 , and will last a further 5-10 years. Singapore Airlines SIN- SYD — 4 months ago

Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish/brick rim.
Very complex nose with cedar, black fruits and vegetables.
Dry on the palate and fruit forward with great complexity.
Showing blackberries, black currants, plums, tobacco leaf, earth, dark coffee, chocolates, black pepper, black tea, bell pepper, Indian spices and vegetables.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.
This 26 year old Cabernet Sauvignon is drinking very nicely now, although might be past its prime.
Feels like an aged Left Bank Bordeaux.
Loved the nose here, but needed an hour of airtime to open up. After 3 hours of airtime, more vegetable and earth notes show up.
Robert Parker 94 points.
Good by itself as a sipping wine or with food.
A blend of 93% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot.
13.9% alcohol by volume.

This is high up on the totem pole, and it shows on all senses. The nose is complicated and dense, which then leads into a rich variety of notes such as tobacco, cedar, coffee and cherries. While it seems to have already evolved into its drinking window, powerful tannins and good acidity provide the hallmarks of a wine that will hold its own for a long time. — 9 months ago
Cedar, vanilla, cassis, blackberry, toast, nice acid. Very soft tannins, nice time to drink. — a year ago
Medium to full bodied, dense and very good structure, black currants, earth, tobacco, graphite and cedar with hints of espresso and a silky smooth finish with soft tannins. — 5 years ago

2016 vintage. Always understated style. Lean throughout. Light-medium body with dedicated, yet delicate, push. Distinctive producer. Enduring delivery currently. Obviously not for everyone but for those that get it, borders on obsession. Mushrooms. Drying earth. Light cedar. Cassis. Subdued sandalwood. Very close to being the Burgundy of St. Julien. Last tasted 9.20.21 and scored same. 3.16.24. — 3 months ago
Blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. This estate owes its name to Connetable Talbot, the English general & governor of the province of Guyenne who was defeated at the famous Battle of Castillon in 1453. Deep Ruby, purple hues, with aromas of black fruits, herb, tobacco and earthy notes. On the palate flavors of plums and black currants with cacao and tobacco spice, on a well balanced frame. Fine tight tannins, long finish ending with fruit, earthy spice and cedar character. Nice! — 4 months ago
Still medium ruby with quite narrow garnet pink rim . Quite high toned on those nose , just a touch of volatility, and showing quite a lot of the ripeness with dried blackberry and blackcurrant , grafite , tobacco , soy. Quite dense on the palate with more of the ripe , slightly dried fruits , currants , with touches of cedar , sweet tobacco , coffee , undergrowth and grafite . Quite sweet on the palate , with balanced acidity and slightly drying , pinched tannins , but quite decent length . This is probably at peak now but can be enjoyed over the next 5-8 years I would imagine , overall quite successful . — 5 months ago
The 2016 Palmer is a brilliant wine from Thomas Duroux, though I feel it will ultimately be surpassed by the 2018. You cannot argue with the nose: intense black cherries and raspberry fruit, crushed violets and crème de cassis (as if there was a touch of Pauillac in there). The palate is medium-bodied with fleshy, sensual tannins, perfect acidity, velvet smooth with layers of chocolate-tinged black fruit, hints of black pepper and cedar towards the sustained finish. It is a fabulous Palmer that will give much pleasure. Tasted at the Palmer vertical at the château. (Neal Martin, Vinous, August 2023)

Probably my favorite and, in my mind, the most consistent Spanish wine out there. A deep dark plum color in the glass. The nose absolutely shines with cedar and plenty of spice. There’s a bit of smoke here along with cherry cola and a little more spice. Dried herbs and chocolate round things out.
A preponderance of Tempranillo with a nice chunk of Garnacha in the blend. Obviously still so young but readily approachable and enjoyable now. The extended aging makes a world of difference with this wine vintage in and vintage out. Rich and full of personality, this is a beautiful wine that’s just going to continue to grow with age. — 9 months ago
This is the second bottle of ‘87 Faustino I’ve had and it was equally as impressive as the first. The tannins have fully softened with time and presents forth an unambiguous profile of strawberry, red liquorice, cedar and dirt. This is damn tasty. — 5 years ago
Wonderful! Enjoyed this delicious wine with beef spiedini and pasta with fresh tomatoes. — 6 years ago
Very interesting wine showing black currants and red plummy fruits, mocha, cedar, fruit cake and a hint of vanilla. This is round, rich and has a creamy texture. — 9 years ago
Wood (cedar), plum, tobacco. Pure ecstasy. — 9 years ago

Full bodied and smooth.
Dry and fruity on the palate with medium acidity.
Showing blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, cedar, leather, vanilla, licorice, spices, chocolates, tobacco, herbs, earth, light vegetables, coffee and black pepper.

Still incredibly primary, as if just bottled, powerful nose dominated by classic cigar and cedar notes. Prominent, velvety oak led a rich, round palate of fine tannins and dark red cherry, baking chocolate. Tail went on forever. Give this 10 more years will be even better. — 6 months ago
Lafite Rothchild and Harlin Estate side by side tasting. Both are 2008 vintages
Lafite Rothchild - A magenta color. Initial aromas of dark black cherry and currants with beautiful floral and subtle vanilla notes. Herbaceous and leather secondary notes. Taste - blue-black fruit, licorice and cedar/tar coat the palate followed by crushed rock, minerals and mocha giving it dry med-long finish. 9.3 rating
Harlin Estate - color is a dark garnet. Nose - notes are restrained and muted. Dark fruits, perfume and dark chocolate followed by notes of graphite and planting soil. Taste - creamy and coats the palate with notes of dark fruits, chocolate espresso, pencil lead and cedar with a long dry finish. Tannins are still present giving the wine more time to age. 9.3 rating

Last night in MT at the lake. Gave this several hours of air. Nice dark tawny color. Vibrant in the glass. The nose is great right away and stayed on point through the evening. Notes of black cherries, warm raspberries, old cedar, some plums and a little leather saddle. Rich and silky in the mouth. Velvet glove. Long finish. Great wine. — 5 years ago
Very smooth — 8 years ago
This is really coming along nicely since I first had it in 08. Smooth. The secondary cedar and tobacco are staring to come in. Good balance and structure. — 9 years ago
Drinking very well- still youthful. Gravel, rocks, cedar, pencil lead, soft. — 10 years ago

+3 hour decant(some chunky/fine sediment). A remarkable dark garnet color. On the nose: dark plum/currants, forest floor, touch of mint and leather, smokey brisket. Taste: layered, structured, dry wine with plum, cassis, tobacco, cedar, currants and a tangy spiced raspberry medium plus finish. YUM! No hurry, time to go. — 3 months ago
