Opening with an interesting and unique orange zest character, then moving to tilled soil. Overall a fresh and mildly spiced nose. On the palate it shows the character but it’s quite harsh to undesired at the moment. — 6 months ago

Blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Aromas of ripe red fruit, rose petals, dried red flowers and eucalyptus. Red and black cherry/raspberry and boysenberry fruit on the palate along with additional notes of chocolate, toffee, savory spices and mint. Well integrated oak on the long and slightly chewy finish. Rustic, well balanced and beautifully aged. Thanks for sharing this one, Ron B! — 4 months ago

Medium ruby garnet , quite thin garnet rim . Quite open and inviting tobacco , red plum , cassis , earthy hints . On the palate this has good balance and a mineral , herbal hints, along with the mix of red and dark fruits . This has good fresh acidity and grippy but polished tannin . Good length and is showing quite well . Better in 5 or so years and will last well a further 10 . At Vinous Icons NY , Pier 60 , Feb 2025 — 2 months ago

Very peculiar spectrum of aromas. Freshly cutted pineapple and pear. White peach and grapefruit. Very nice and long finish.

Birth year wine.
"Looks like a tricky one"... if I had a dollar for every time I heard that.
This is Chateau Latour Martillac, Graves, 1975.
This wine is slightly over the hill, but has survived 50 years. Just like me.
I'm assuming this is Cabernet, Merlot, and maybe something else. Fine, pale brick color. The nose is lively and generous with fruit, though there is a bit of grandma's basement.
The palette is driven by tertiary flavors. Mushroom, truffle, wet leaves, and pencil tend to drown out a bit of dark cherry. A little astringent. Maybe some Petit Verdot.
I wouldn't kick this out of bed for eating crackers, but I would prefer it with some lamb.
Hope you all are having an awesome Sunday!
