It is Thursday night the eve before the start of another weekend. I have opened the 2018 Patricia Green Cellar Durant Vineyard Madrone Block Pinot Noir. This is a beautifully balanced pinot noir from the Dundee Hills of the Willamette Valley of Oregon.
The nose brings out notes of cherry, raspberry, floral notes, sassafras, vanilla, cola, clove and baking spices.
Onnthe palate there is cherry, raspberry, cranberry, spice, vanilla, herbs, hibiscus and forest floor.
This wine is a beautiful expression of Pinot Noir that is beautifully well balanced and is medium bodied with medium + acidity and medium fine tannins that lead into a medium to long red fruit finish. Here we are on the eve before the start of another weekend and we need to look within to see how we want to proceed in life? Do we want to try and make something out of our life and do right with our fellow man or proceed with the status quo and not make a mark on this world.i hope we all want to make a difference and try and lift one another up. Hello everyone! It is Friday night and I have opened the 2019 Elk Cove Vinyards Willamette Valley Estate Pinot Noir Rosé.
On the nose I am receiving notes of strawberry, cherry,red raspberry, tangerine peel, red currant, nice floral notes and minerality.
On the palate there is strawberry, cherry, red raspberry, spice, earthy notes and minerality.
This wine is medium bodied with a beautiful pink color and medium + acidity with medium fine tannins which brings you right into a medium to long fresh fruit finish. Tonight's wine is the 2018 Schlosskellerei Gobelsburg Kamptal Riesling. This wine comes from Osterreich, Austria the A Terry Theise Estate. What a wonderful riesling this is, it checks all the boxes.
On the nose there is green apple, lemon, pear, jasmine, petrol, bicycle rubber tires and minerality.
The palate gives us lemon/lime, green apple, peach, petrol, flinty notes and a nice minerality.

Today starts the long Labor Day weekend and I feel with the way the world has been turning that things have got to get better. Tonight I have opened the 2018 Coltilde Lagrand Saumur-Champigny Les Terrages Cabernet Franc. This is 100% Cabernet Franc and a lovely one at that, but I have always been partial to the Loire Valley Cab Franc.
On the nose there is black cherry, red plum, strawberry, raspberry, spice and crushed gravel.
On the palate I am getting tart cherry, raspberry, plum, gingerbread, green bell pepper and a bit of wet gravel.
This wine is medium to full bodied with medium + acidity and medium + fine sandy tannins that lead to a long pleasing red fruit finsh. Sunday night and I have opened the 2016 Josef Leitz Rüdesheimer Magdalenenkreuz Spätlese Riesling from the Rheingau region of Germany.
On the nose there is green apple, lemon/lime, pear, the ever present rubber bicycle tire, honeycomb and jasmine.
On the palate there is the green apple, apricot, pear, lime, petrol, lanolin and a good minerality.
This wine is sweet but in balance, light to medium in body with a smooth oily mouthfeel and medium + acidity which leads right into a medium long fresh fruit finish. Thus afternoon's wine that I picked-up yesterday is the 2015 Domaine Tollot-Beaut Chorey-Les-Beaune Pinot Noir. What a beautiful wine to start the weekend off with.
I am totally loving the aromatics on this wine. There are beautiful notes of strawberry, cranberry, cherry, hibiscus, clove, mushroom, rose petal, light campfire smoke and forest floor.
On the palate there is tart cherry, cranberry, raspberry, clove, mint, spice, mushroom and an earthy forest floor.
This wine is medium to full bodied with a silky smooth mouthfeel and a mouth watering medium + acidity and medium to plus medium fine mouth coating tannins that move right into a long fresh red fruit finish. What I really love about this wine is it has a wonderful purity about it and is extremely well balanced. I hope everyone's weekend is a good one. On this Sunday night the start of a new work week I have opened the 2019 Domaine de Triennes Rosé. This wine comes from Nans-les-Pins, France located between Marseilles and Toulon North of Bandol. This is a blend of mainly Cinsault with smaller amounts of Grenache, Syrah and Merlot.
On the nose I am getting red rasberry, cherry, tangerine, pomegranate, red currant, musky melon snd floral notes.
On the palate there is raspberry, tart cherry, strawberry, nectarine, a spiciness and good minerality.

Hello again everyone. We have made it again to another weekend with minimum aggravation. Tonight's wine is the 2012 Red I.Q. Washington State Red Wine from the Pamplin Family Winery of the Columbia Valley. This is a typical Bordeaux blend with the main grapes being Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
On the nose there is black cherry, black plum, black raspberry, black currant, chocolate, cedar, crushed gravel and earthiness.
On the palate I get black cherry, black raspberry, black currant, green bell pepper, herbs, cedar and earth.
This wine is medium to full bodied with medium to + acidity and medium fine tannins that gradually moves into a medium black fruit finish. Friday night and I have opened the 2017 Hirsch Vineyards San Andreas Fault Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir.
The nose reveals good fruit of cherry, raspberry, strawberry, cinnamon, spice, vanilla, rose petal, a touch of oak, mushroom, wet leaves and forest floor.
On the palate there is wonderful notes of cherry, ripe strawberry, red & black raspberry, spice, cinnamon, herbs, light oak and earthy forest floor.
This wine is medium bodied, very well balanced with medium + acidity and medium to + mouth coating soft chewy tannins that leaves you with a long juicy fruit earthy finish.
