It's time for my #FridayCabernetfix.
Deep purple in color with a short purple rim.
Pretty nose of blueberries, cooked black cherries, blackberries, figs, cedar, vanilla, spices, chocolates, earth, herbs, coffee, tobacco, licorice and black pepper.
Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with blackberries, currants, black cherries, raisins, dried figs, vanilla, cedar, cola, spices, dark chocolates, coffee, earth, bitter herbs and peppercorn.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.
This is a gorgeous Cabernet Sauvignon based Bordeaux blend from Napa Valley. Feels like a Napa Cabernet with a Bordeaux touch. Fruity and rich, yet elegant.
Good right out of the bottle, and better after 2 hours in the decanter, but it definitely needs longer than that.
What a great mouthfeel. I just love these Napa Bordeaux blends.
Still young and would be better in 5 to 10 years. Could be a 97+ point wine in 10 years. Will continue to age nicely in the next 20 years.
Thank you John for sharing this with me.
A blend of 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc, 6% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot and 2% Malbec.
14.5% alcohol by volume.

Deep Ruby with aromas of berry fruits, earthy oak and floral notes. On the palate flavors of blackberry, currants and hints of sweet berry fruit flavors, adding some licorice and cacao. Fine dusty tannins, good acidity, well balanced, great now but has room to still develop, ending with fruit and earthy mineral notes. — 3 days ago
100 points???…I don’t think so…but very nice. I bought at the Treasury employee store to celebrate the purchase of our home in Saint Helena. We closed on the last day of November and had dinner with our friends and new neighbors. Had side by side with the 2016 BV Private Reserve which I scored 95 points. — 8 days ago
Beautiful wine - notes of cinnamon, delightful freshness, I would say more details but covid's still got my nose 😂 I really like the body of this wine which is not too full and yet stands on its own. This is one of the most balanced red wines that packs a juicy punch. — 16 days ago
Very solid cab. Paired with my filet steak and I know from experience this wine is Murtaugh to my Gibson steak. Nice bouquet. It’s sweet but not too strong. The edges are a bit light on the swirl and it seems a tad thin in the glass on look but not on taste. Vanilla, smoke, cherry, forest, tar. Finish is above average. This is just a reliable workhorse that is a favorite at the steakhouse. — 2 days ago
