Sweet, ripe and concentrated with expresso and dark currant overtones. A bit angular and lacking the depth and round finish of exemplary examples of HSS...not sure if that is attributable to the vintage or its relative youth. I suspect it's a bit of both. A very nice wine just not in typical HSS kick ass mode.
