Just enough of the 2020 weirdness to inject some depth after an hour of air. — a day ago

Anniversary of Willy’s -44 years with Olivier Clape et Magali Jacob - for release of their book « a year in the vineyard « — a month ago
Significantly better than the 2008 Lynch-Bages I had the other night.
Domaine De Chevalier is one of the more underrated or under appreciated Bordeaux producers.
The nose shows; beautiful dry, red flowers, black currants, brambly blackberries, ripe; dark cherries & strawberries, black plum, hints of raspberries, anise, dry herbs, mid baking spices, loamy earthiness, dark spice, dry tobacco/leather, graphite, barrel toast, bright red flowers and liquid violets.
M+ dark meaty tannins. Ripe, juicy, gorgeous fruits; black currants, brambly blackberries, dark cherries & strawberries, black plum, hints of raspberries, red licorice, red to mid berry cola, touch of black licorice, anise, dry herbs, mid baking spices-light clove/nutmeg, cinnamon & light vanillin, dark spices with a little palate heat, loamy earthiness, dark spice w/ some palate heat, dry tobacco/leather, graphite, charcoal, pebbles, some soft mushroom, barrel toast, bright red flowers and liquid violets. Really nice rainfall acidity, well tensioned/structured still w/ age, nicely balanced with an elegant, smartly polished finish that lasts minutes and long sets on spice & earth.
15 yrs of good drinking ahead.

Acker birthday auction. Some butterscotch and richness. Pretty good — 2 hours ago
While not showing its best, it’s always a special and humbling experience to drink DRC! A little advanced, but still showing complex stemmy aromatics with cola and Asian spices. Great with the dry-aged duck but not necessarily memorable on its own outside the label. — 23 days ago

Opened this a few years too early. Dark and brooding. Olives, violet, blackberry. Wild and savory. Would love to try this again in a few years! — a month ago
Probably from last Chambers sampler. 11/8/25 Cold Night. Very dark pour, potent scent out of bottle. Black fruits on nose. Moderate tannins. Solid sediments on second day. — 14 days ago
This is everything I want in a red- juicy, fruity, earthy, peppery. Yum yum yum — 10 days ago
Medium ruby garnet with a quite wide garnet rim . Quite explosive from the off with spicy , stemmy violet , smoky darker fruits, touch of cassis with some dark cherry , and allspice. On the palate this again shows quite exotic fruit , mix of red and dark , dry spices with smoky violets . This has quite a generous mouthfeel with some noticable tannin still and balanced acidity . Quite long and mineral tinged on the palate , with smoky , cherry , black tea finish . Still pretty young and fruit driven , balanced alcohol and ripe tannin. Probably better in 5 - 10 years and will last well a further 10. — a month ago
