Unfiltered Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel 2015

Excellent Zin with a ton of blackberries and some of those Zin brambles. Fully integrated with a long smooth finish. Not sure if drinking this earlier would have made the fruits brighter but still overall a very special wine. — 10 days ago

Dominus Estate

Dominus Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2018

So appealing for such a young Dominus. Bursting aromatics of ripe currants, blueberries, baking spice, flowers, green leafs, pepper, iron. I know Dominus ages gracefully but this is a treat to drink already today. — 3 days ago

Château Musar

Bekaa Valley Red Blend 2000

Beautiful wine. So earthy, leathery, and powerful. This wine still has years of life left. A nearly perfect Cabernet Sauvignon blend with a Mediterranean twist. It tastes like an extremely high-end Chateauneuf-du-Pape dominated by a high-end Napa Cabernet. Perfect with my Greek lamb chops. I wish I could have left it open longer but I consumed it at my favorite BYOB Greek restaurant. If you find this wine at a reasonable price, buy it. At $90 a steal. — 10 days ago

Château Montrose

Saint-Estèphe Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2005

A 3 hour decant has 05 Montrose showing beautifully, wafting layers of cassis, cedar and mocha with a silky and vibrant palate and fine grained tannins. Still so young but in a real nice spot. — 7 days ago

Château Léoville Barton

Saint-Julien Red Bordeaux Blend 2005

+2 hour decant(little fine/cloudy sediment). A brooding dark magenta color. On the nose: very aromatic notes..lots of blackberry, floral, pencil lead, wet forest floor, sweet oak. Taste: blackberry, cassis, bitter chocolate, herbs, pepper and a gravelly/new leather long finish with some still there kickin tannins. YUM! Gonna give my next bottle a few more years for a better score. — 14 days ago

Corison

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2004

Decant for sediment and pour(decent chunky/fine sediment). A remarkable murky magenta color with bricking. On the nose: beautiful nose of stewed black fruit/currants, floral, herbaceous, burnt embers, spearment. Taste: classic old school Napa, juicy, balanced, savory wine with dark cherry, baking spice, smoke, sweet tobacco and a nice long earthy cocoa finish. YUM! Drinks well at year 20 and glad to have another bottle. — 8 days ago

Produttori del Barbaresco

Barbaresco Nebbiolo 2019

Too young. Needed hours of air. Disjointed. A good amount of acidity. Some fruit showing through. There’s a lot of spice and herbs too. Will hold other bottles for a long while. — 8 days ago

Dom Pérignon

Brut Champagne Blend 2013

Some specials on today at the Chelsea lounge at JFK. Thought I’d ask and look what we got. It doesn’t have as much of the typical Dom taste for me and it is still very very young, definitely still a baby. Great nose and packs a lot of citrusy flavors - they will certainly mellow over the years. Not a bad rendition, not quite hitting the super high marks with me right now, but very pleasant early p.m. bubbly on this holiday — 5 days ago

Billecart-Salmon

Brut Rosé Champagne Blend

She is red-fruit forward, she has brioche touches and sea salt nuances on the nose. The palate is that sort of balance there isn’t a proper word for but gosh it’s there. Finishes slightly toasty with a zip of lemon and a squeeze of cranberry. — 19 days ago
