Let the wine breathe for an hour or two before it's best. Pair with Thai food or fat ribeye steaks is good. Enjoy! — 11 days ago
Splendid nose of cherry moonlight, black currant, hay and a tiny earthy thing. The palate is well done and showing lots of balance. Cherry and black fruits shining all along a great acid backbone, a good width, a soft mouthfeel, some caressing tannins in the rear kicking off a very long finish with fruits. That's a really good effort. More of that! — 16 days ago
Tangy floral orange zest and under ripe pineapple on the nose. Zippy bright acidity with a fresh citrus finish. Stupid food friendly or just plane quaffable and a liter’s worth… I’ll take a case! — 18 days ago
This is phenomenal. I would drink this all day. Had it after dinner by itself. It reminds me of California. — 22 days ago
Finally a Rafanelli on its home turf…..didn’t quite measure up to some other vintages? served with steak sandwiches poolside — a month ago
Blackberry, textured but with a light body. Easy drinking and stayed presentable for longer than many wines — 4 days ago
Amazingly found this bottle at rustic pizza, Clare Valley at a $130. Thought this might be our only chance to drink a Wendouree so grabbed it. Beautifully fresh fruited, lovely balance, crisp acidity, medium bodied. Black/red fruited with violet highlights, spice, earth, eucalypt, silky dry tannin. The longer we sat with it the leather and tannin became quite firm, perhaps overwhelming some of the earlier fruit flavours. Drunk too young but still memorable. — 13 days ago
Beautiful deep orange gem-like hue. Almost like the orange of an ember in a kindling fireplace.
Super fresh, slight aroma of apricots and honey, and maybe even a bit of maple syrup.
Omg. New fave alert 🚨
Super dry (which I love), slight effervescence (love), nice tannins, give it a bit of zest. Zippy yet elegant. All rounded depth. Fruit and savory. Honey blossoms.
Hit every note for me. — a day ago
@Delectable Wine this is the 2018 Pied a Terre Artist Series Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve. Thanks!
Nose is pretty funky out of the gates and this needs a decant as the winemaker told me. Palate is also closed and backwards but shows great promise. I’ll be back for a score. Not cool to judge it now.
3 hours open and we are finally getting there with a terrific fruit core and great acidity and freshness. Silky. Elegant finish. Very deep and long . But I can tell it's at 35-45% and has miles to go. The nose takes a while to open up as well but it finally has as well. Such complex minerality. That's the uniqueness of it. The finish is superb but this is a throwback wine and needs to be aged for 6-10 years. I'll see where it is tomorrow and the next day.
