Red raspberry and spicy, very youthful, fruit, outstanding acidity, whereas the 2020 from earlier seems ready, this wine needs 3-5 years to peak, long, lingering finish, outstanding Zin!! I can only imagine how fantastic the single vineyard 2023 Bedrock Zins will be in 5-7 years! — 3 months ago

The 2019 edition of this wine seems looser, lower in acid, and more on the savory side than usual. Scorched earth and very pure, spicy Zin blackberry fruit on the nose. Round and and soft in the mouth. Up-front Zin fruit quickly gives way to more savory elements. A slight bitterish note, not unpleasant, as the finish progresses. Unlike other Storybook Zins, I’d drink this one sooner rather than later. — 23 days ago

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2021 Pagani Ranch pours a deep ruby color with a near opaque core; medium+ viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe and tart black and red fruits: mixed bramble fruit, black cherry, black pepper, red flowers, tobacco, warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. Yum. — 2 months ago

History begins in 1885, when Osea Perrone, a doctor in San Francisco's Italian community, bought 180 acres near the top of Monte Bello Ridge in the Santa Cruz Mountains. This is 95% Zin with a splash of Petite Syrah. Dark Ruby with aromas of berry fruits, floral and spice! On the palate flavors of blackberry and cherry with peppery floral herb spice integrated with fine soft tannins, lively acidity. Medium+ finish ending with juicy fruit and spice.
