Beyond beautiful! Immediately soft upon opening—had planned to decant for 4-6 hours but decided against. Open and had small taste with Maggie Harrison around noon. Decided to re-cork it and decanted at 4PM.
At noon I got (very unexpected) cranberry notes on the nose and the palate was considerably more gentle than expected.

After two hour decant: Soft (cat tongue), integrated tannins, pomegranate, black cherry begins to emerge. Herbs, smoky/meaty notes emerge

Ruby in color with medium intensity and a wide reddish rim.

Fresh red berries on the nose and medium in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with nice complexity.

Showing fresh cherries, sweet raspberries, light wood, tobacco, black pepper, chocolates, spices, light earth and herbs.

Tangy finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This young Pinot Noir from Oregon is starting to drink nicely now, and needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly. Rich and fruity, smooth and spicy. Nicely balanced and complex, soft and elegant.

I've had a few vintages of this Pinot Noir and it is so much better with age. Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years.

A good quality wine. Good right out of the bottle, and better with some airtime.

Interesting, easy drinking and a good sipping wine.

Pinot Noir grapes were aged in (55% new) French oak barrels for 16 months.

Medium straw with green reflexes . Quite creamy , toasty on the nose at first , lemon pith and some yellow fruits, light herbal hints , chalky notes after a while . Quite rounded and generous on the palate but with great balance . Fresh acidity , good extract . Good length , with lightly toasty finish . Still quite lean and detailed but with a pleasing richness . Good lemon tinged , stony length. Drinking quite well now , but this is pretty young will age quite well , probably better in 3-5 years and last well a further 3-5 . At Auberge de L’ill in Illhaeusen. — 6 hours ago

More or less the same aspect as the Pucelles, medium gold in colour . A lot more reserved and younger on the nose , more linear and mineral , seashell, light lemon and some white flowers . This is discreet , at least on the nose , on the palate however this is intense but linear and focused , with a touch of lemon oil , but mostly chalky mineral , seashell notes , long vibrant length . Really fresh and vital though there is good mouthfeel , just a hint of toastiness on the finish . Long and fine , fresh and still young . From now and over the next 5- 10 years . Also a late release from the domaine , with wax capsule and Diam cork. — a month ago

It’s always a special treat to drink any bottle of DRC and this bottle of Grand Echezeaux felt extra special. Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a couple hour. The 2005 pours a hazy ruby color with a translucent core; medium viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with ripe notes of black cherry, blackberry, strawberry, red flowers, cumin, sous bois, licorice, dried green herbs, and gentle warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. In true DRC style, the balance is impeccable and this is showing well; early in its prime. Drink now with through 2055. Bottle No. 2210/11809 — 2 months ago

Medium gold . Quite rich and decadent on the nose with buttered popcorn , light toasty hints , lemon confit , orange rind , hints of chalk underneath . There is a light nuttiness , too so certainly showing some age . On the palate this has good intensity and grip , slightly advanced perhaps (certainly older than the Chevalier) , with buttered toast , touch of caramel and lemon rind , hint of bitterness on the palate . Quite high bracing acidity and enough freshness on the finish . I would drink this now and over the next few years , though there may be fresher bottles out there . Re released from the domaine in 2019, with wax capsule and Diam cork. — a month ago

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2010 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru “Clavoillon” pours a straw color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with powerful notes of green apple, tropical fruit, stone fruit, lemon meringue, white flowers, nuts and warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and slightly savory. Again, we were spared from premox; hallelujah!
