Black and red cherry fruit aromas, dried cran and raisin, display a light tangerine, sage, aloe and pepper dust. Sweet tobacco, and spot on measures of cedar and smoke. Dried cherry, pointedly tart raspberry, black cherry, cocoa, coffee, and tarragon round out the palate. Juicy in places; lean on the pyrotechnics. Balanced in a word.

PRODUCTION AREA:
The vineyards are in the hills of Montalcino, at different heights and with a sun exposure until sunset. The age of the vineyards from which we select the grapes destined to produce Brunello is more than 20 years. Average altitude of the vineyards: 250 mt s.l.m.

SOIL:
Tuffaceous clay, very rich in fossils.

GRAPE VARIETY:
Large Sangiovese 100%.

TRAINING SYSTEM:
bilateral and balanced cordon.

DENSITY FOR HECTARE:
5.500

PRODUCTION SYSTEM:
The vineyards are subject to thinning of bunches, the average criteria is, in good vintages, three bunches of five stay on. The grapes thus obtained are further selected in the cellar, where they are processed according to the old tradition. It proceeds to intense extraction in the early stages of fermentation, followed by long quiescent maceration on the marc; the maximum temperature is raised up to 33 °C and maintained at high values until the racking. The ageing in wood lasts 36 months in oak barrels from Slavonia hl 17.50. It follows bottle ageing for 12 months far beyond the mandatory minimum of four months from production regulations.

German chocolate cake and bacon fat, brooding black cherry and reishi mushroom. Smoky tallow, madura leaf, blackberries, black currant, black roses and African violets, yellowing bamboo and plums for leagues. Black cherry carries the heavy mouthfeel up and over the palate with an overt lard and tallow signature. Depth and complexity ensue. This is rich and refined, well-integrated in terms of tannin and perfectly balanced; a glorious expression of Montalchino! This is rarefied quality and reins in its fruit with a graphite mesh that supports the aforementioned. Incredible.

Pure #brunello #brunellodimontalcino #sangiovese from inner #tuscany medium Garnet color medium(+) intensity aromas of red fruits, red cherries, pomegranate, raspberry and dried red plums. Hints of herbal aromas (oregano, thyme and sage) with secondary aromas of oak (vainilla, cedar and toast) and tertiary aromas and flavors of dried red fruits. On the palate the wine is dry with medium(+) acidity, firm ripe medium(#) tannins and high alcohol and a medium(+) body. The finish is medium(+). This is a 2015 and it can still develop favorably in the bottle. It has a balance of ripe red fruits, juicy medium(+) acidity and the maturation in oak gives it the elegance and the depth to continue to develop over time. It’s aromas and flavors are still full of juicy rich concentrated red fruits and the tertiary aromas and flavors so typical of Brunello make this wine a fine example. — 6 years ago

Lighter-styled Brunello offering a red cherry mint, smoky soft plum and bruised rose petal; lightest pepper, poppyseed.
Vague notes of banana and spun sugar. Tart cherry, raspberry and oregano on the palate, cedar-cigar, grainy tannins and roobios. Good Brunello for the money!

Young and fresh from the glass with black cherry, cranberry, roses and poppy. Great vintage holding up phenomenally! Black and bing cherry palate with soft,textural black olive, bright raspberry, lingonberry and catalyst salinity. Juicy! Great acidity makes this seem so young in every way, the only hint is a slight fade to brick, but mostly unvarying rim to rim.

Ripe, quite juicy fruit with candied red fruit aromas. On the palate medium acidity and red fruits with medium(+) ripe tannins, sweet spice flavours and a little cocoa. very good, alcoholic finish with a medium(+) finish. Overall fruitier than other #brunello which in some respects is a good thing because I found many Brunello’s oxidized (especially the Riservas) but that comes with a trade off and this wine had less complexity and less interesting tertiary aromas and flavors and a shorter finish than other wines. The #qpr is great though. Seemed more like a premium #rossodimontalcino than a Brunello. — 6 years ago
