Renieri Rosso di Montalcino Sangiovese 2019

Substantial #rossodimontalcino concentrated slightly spicy cherry, forest floor, leather nose; classic #sangiovese earthy-spicy cherry on palate, touch of cigar box, easy going tannins. First-rate pairing with wild boar Bolognese pappardelle pasta. — 2 years ago

Cerbaia Rosso di Montalcino Sangiovese 2016

Salvia, dusty, black cherry. Lifted, fine, persistent minerality. Estate is situated just above Pertimali, and the young proprietors work for Sassetti. Pure class, as you’d imagine in such a situation. Fantastic! #cerbaia #rossodimontalcino #sangiovesegrosso — 6 years ago

Stella di Campalto Podere San Giuseppe

Rosso di Montalcino Sangiovese 2012

Wait one second--this is a Rosso? The nose showed a seductive, and truly tuscan display of sweet cherries, raspberry, dusty spice, dried flowers, floral undergrowth and hints of new leather. On the palate, I found silky textures with perfectly balanced acidity that tugged at the senses as crunchy red fruits mixed with sweet spices and hints of light tannin to form a tactile and almost thirst quenching experience. The finish was vibrant with mineral-infused sweet cherry and lingering spice. Wow! My only regret is that I didn't buy a case. #stelladicamplato #rossodimontalcino — 7 years ago

Brunello di Montalcino 2015

Ripe, quite juicy fruit with candied red fruit aromas. On the palate medium acidity and red fruits with medium(+) ripe tannins, sweet spice flavours and a little cocoa. very good, alcoholic finish with a medium(+) finish. Overall fruitier than other #brunello which in some respects is a good thing because I found many Brunello’s oxidized (especially the Riservas) but that comes with a trade off and this wine had less complexity and less interesting tertiary aromas and flavors and a shorter finish than other wines. The #qpr is great though. Seemed more like a premium #rossodimontalcino than a Brunello. — 4 years ago

Nice #rossodimontalcino with robust tannins, earthy spice but goes down nice and pairs well with hard cheeses. — 7 years ago
