Red Bordeaux Blend

Château Talbot

Saint-Julien Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2022

Blend of about 73% Sauvignon Blanc and 27% Semillon, aged in oak for 8 months. Pale lemon color with aromas of stone and tropical fruits with biscuit and floral notes. On the palate flavors of peach, golden apple and melon with white floral and herb notes. Medium+ finish ending with fruit, herb and yeasty notes, lively acidity with slight smoky mineral character. Small production, nice, good now! — a month ago

Sweet dark plum aromas and flavors, this wine still shows nice structure and has many more years ahead before it reaches maturity, long, lingering finish, excellent Bordeaux that will likely longer than me!! — a month ago

Vintage 2010 | last year our Brabantse Wine Society wine friends @Eric Hoepelman @Willem Jan Withagen @Rob van Kalmthout @Martijn went to the worldchampionship blindtasting and visited Mouton R. This year they are so kind to share experiences with @Berry Marinussen @Liselotte Brouwers Maarten Drop and myself who will attend this year in Jura. Château d'Yquem

Sauternes Sémillon-Sauvignon Blanc Blend 1991

Light medium caramel core , light copper rim. Quite mature , with spiced creme brûlée , saffron , burnt sugar , some crystallised orange peel , desiccated coconut . Slightly monochrome . On the palate this is quite light , with quite high acidity and a burnt caramel bitterness . Medium sweetness only , quite refreshing acidity . Slightly bitter orange caramel finish . Drink now qnd over the next few years , won’t improve . — 24 days ago

Grand Cru Classé en 1855 Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend 1959

Impressively knit and proudly firm. A rare treat that is magically sound and correct. An ambivalence insists it has some years left. Scary. — 2 months ago

Excellent vintage. The ‘59 BDX are holding on surprisingly well. Frankenweins.

Château Clerc Milon

Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 2003

WOW! I haven’t had this wine for many years. The tertiary aromatics are amazing - mushroom, forest floor, smoke, charcoal, leather and cedar around a bouquet of blackberry and dark fruit. A real joy ! — 3 months ago

1st Growth Bordeaux comparison. Young, bold and bit more herbaceous than the rest and would benefit the most from good years lying down. Great potential. — 4 months ago

From 750ml with a couple hours of air, it’s showing bell pepper and ripe currant fruit with just a hint of leather, knit together by lovely acidity. At peak and excellent but with plenty of life remaining. — 3 months ago
