Pulled from the wine fridge and double-decanted about 90 minutes prior to service; enjoyed over the course of three hours. The 2005 Bougros pours a deep straw color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is vinous with notes of marmalade, dried apricot, cashews, chalky minerals, leesy, and slightly sherried. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and super chalky.
This improved dramatically as it came up to temperature and had some real time to stretch its legs. It showed all the hallmarks of well aged GC Chablis from a solar year: powerful, dried fruit; the chalk; the acid; its creamy, leesy texture. The sherried, oxidative notes seemed to dissipate over time, freshening up a bit after being cooped up for so long. Bravo! Drink now and before 2030. Thanks Andy! — 10 months ago
Jasmine, quince paste, spiced pear, lemon curd, pineapple sweetness, punchy. Touch of lemon pith at end, but tons of juicy acid. Creamy / lactic. Chalky minerals. Layered, delicious, weighty.

Really impressive! Intensity. Density. Length. Yum. — 10 years ago
I think this might be my favorite Fevre wine, even more Les Clos and Preuses. Distinctly Chablis, but I get some stone fruit and honeysuckle. So good — 3 months ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2022 pours a straw color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of tart orchards and citrus fruits: green apple, lemon curd, minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. Drink now through 2032. — 5 months ago
Presented double-blind. The wine appears a light straw color; medium viscosity with no signs of sediment. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of orchard fruit: apples, lemon curd, hot metal and a buttermilk thing. I think there is some oak? On the palate, the wine is dry with high acid. Confirming the notes from the nose and there is a leesy textural element. The finish is long and intensely mineral driven. I called Chardonnay from France, from Burgundy, from the Côte de Beaune, Chassagne- Montrachet, 2018. Well, well…I was close but it was the Chardonnay from the north and with some age!! And awesome showing. Drink now but this has years to go. — 6 months ago

Big Wave Dave
Try as I might to not overstate the brilliance of this wine, over pork cordon bleu and noodles in the town of Chablis on a cold grey day, this wine was the centrepiece in an unforgettable lunch. My first Raveneau and now I get what all the fuss is about. Muted nose with some flinty smoke, and mineral notes. The palate is complex and multi-layered for a mere Chablis: green apple, yeast, buttered popcorn. The 2nd half then unfurls and saline, citrus, and a hint of stone fruit linger long on the palate. The structure perfectly balances the fruit. Nothing out of place. High acid, med+ complexity, high quality. — 3 months ago
