Sea Smoke

Sea Smoke

Estate Vineyard Sta. Rita Hills Chardonnay 2020

Yum. Good acidity to balance the depth and small notes of oak. Sharp with light fruit. Medium body. Paired well with Parmesan chicken — 22 days ago

Sea Smok

Southing Santa Barbara County Pinot Noir 2014

Very smooth, tannins have really mellowed. Fruit has faded a bit but still very good. Macerated black cherry, cola, and a touch of mint. I would drink soon. — 2 months ago

Pretty spectacular stuff here. 2019. Balance of fruit and grip, both high intensity. Dark fruit and smoky. Wonderful. — 2 months ago

Domaine François Raveneau

Valmur Chablis Grand Cru Chardonnay 2000

Taken to Canoe House at the Mauna Lani. Nice light gold color, heavy in the glass. Nose of sweet sea breeze, apricot, honey, white clay, citrus and tan spice. Rich and powerful. Great stuff, paired well with the Onaga local catch. — 24 days ago

the stuff is immortal and Raveneau Valmur for me Beats Clos, better minerality. Sounds like a stellar vacation!

Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste

Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 1995

Aroma of red currant, tart cherry, smoke and cinnamon. Smells like red hot candies honestly. Smooth, smoky, flavor of nutmeg, cinnamon, charred plum, meat. Grippy tannins. Perfect with Christmas standing rib roast. — a month ago

Dom Pérignon

Brut Champagne Blend 2012

Way too young… but fully enjoyable at this stage. Not much nose… green apple and pear… wonderful balance! Wondering where this will go , but a joy with halibut and salmon in a state where laws make drinking problematic. Assume this will close up like a sea turtle, but lots of pleasure already. Look for a competitive price… but stock up. — 17 days ago

Château Haut-Brion

Pessac-Léognan Red Bordeaux Blend 1989

1st bottle of 2023 and had to open something fun.

1 hour decant(fine/cloudy sediment). A fabulous reddish tawny color. On the nose: Amazing notes of worn leather, cigar smoke, floral, some sweet cherry/plum, wet funky forest floor, white pepper. Taste: kaboom! Smooth, seemless, brilliant wine with cherry/raspberry, leather, tobacco, smokey, earthy, pencil shavings and velvety soft tannins lead to a LONG finish. YUM!! What a treat to start the new year.
