Morgen Long

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2004

Decant for sediment and pour(decent chunky/fine sediment). A remarkable murky magenta color with bricking. On the nose: beautiful nose of stewed black fruit/currants, floral, herbaceous, burnt embers, spearment. Taste: classic old school Napa, juicy, balanced, savory wine with dark cherry, baking spice, smoke, sweet tobacco and a nice long earthy cocoa finish. YUM! Drinks well at year 20 and glad to have another bottle. — 6 days ago

Long Shadows Vintners

Pedestal Columbia Valley Merlot 2013

We had the 2013 vintage on 1/11/24. Tastes of blackberry l, plum, eucalyptus and camphor. Full bodied and fruit forward. A very good Washington Merlot. — a month ago

Château Lafite Rothschild

Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 2003

Structured and balanced. Very in place and lightly sophisticated. The fruit is all in check as is the alcohol. Still a long life ahead, but very god right now. You need to lean in a bit to feel it — a month ago

Produttori del Barbaresco

Barbaresco Nebbiolo 2019

Too young. Needed hours of air. Disjointed. A good amount of acidity. Some fruit showing through. There’s a lot of spice and herbs too. Will hold other bottles for a long while. — 6 days ago

Château Léoville Barton

Saint-Julien Red Bordeaux Blend 2005

+2 hour decant(little fine/cloudy sediment). A brooding dark magenta color. On the nose: very aromatic notes..lots of blackberry, floral, pencil lead, wet forest floor, sweet oak. Taste: blackberry, cassis, bitter chocolate, herbs, pepper and a gravelly/new leather long finish with some still there kickin tannins. YUM! Gonna give my next bottle a few more years for a better score. — 12 days ago

What a treat!

Château Gruaud Larose

Saint-Julien Red Bordeaux Blend 2020

Blend of 79% Cabernet, 14% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc, deep Ruby with rich fruit aromas. On the palate flavors of blackberry and currants, with notes of licorice, tobacco, some floral and spicy oak. Fine tannins, long finish, ending with fruit, oak and spice. Nice but needs more bottle age, should last another 10 years. Nice! — 4 days ago

Château Lynch-Bages

Grand Cru Classé Pauillac Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2005

This was fantastic, strong, and yet still seemingly understated. Although I am no fortune teller, this seemed strong and young. I couldn’t place all the flavors I experienced, but to my palate there was raspberry, blackberry, smoked meats, soil after a rain, and portobello mushroom all matched with a beautiful color to stare at between sips. Long pauses to enjoy the long finish. — 24 days ago

Château Montrose

Saint-Estèphe Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2013

Understated on the nose, but deep and concentrated with brawny firm tannins, brambly blackberry fruit, tobacco, cedar, and earth. Muscular and savory, linear and well-integrated with a long finish. Needs decanting, but incredibly well-made.
