Double decant for sediment(lots of chunky/fine sediment)and pour. A splendid medium dark purplish magenta color. On the nose: Intoxicating perfumed notes of stewed cherry, fig, herbaceous, roasted meat, funky earth, toasted marshmallow. Taste: opulent mature savory wine with ripe plum, licorice, saline, and a graphite dried herb long finish. YUM! Not bad for a harsh hot/dry vintage. — 9 days ago
Fairly well balanced, light for a Tuscan but sufficiently flavorful. Better on the 2nd and 3rd nights if well capped. Simple evening dinner-wine with a comfortable 13% alc. Definitely a good value from TJ. — 19 days ago
Smooth start and fruity. Let it breathe 15-20 and it gets even better in the finish. — 23 days ago
A decent entry-level “Super Tuscan.” I’m curious about its cellaring potential given the WS review below.
WS: 90. Flavors of cherry, strawberry, sanguine, iron and Mediterranean scrub are supported by a solid structure in this red, which is balanced overall, with dusty tannins and a resonant finish. Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Best from 2026 through 2040. 27,500 cases made, 10,200 cases imported.

Quite yellow gold colour , wide light lemon rim. Shows quite a lot of development . Quite toasty with roasted nuts , candied citrus peel , candle wax , ginger , saffron, curry powder, sea breeze. On the palate this is structured and quite full bodied with the nutty character , ginger and candied lemon rind , great intensity and grip , salty , balanced acidity and very long and balanced on the finish . Drinking well now but needs time to open , will probably continue at this high level for another 5-10 years and maybe even improve further — 3 days ago
