Green River Ambrosia

Leeuwin Estate

Art Series Margaret River Chardonnay 2021

Though young and subdued the wine wakes with an hour in a decanter revealing white flower aromas, lemon, apple, subtle oak elements, white peach and light green herbs. Loads of minerality, crisp high acidity and a compact form that only becomes more opulent with time. A terrific wine. — 8 days ago

Stephanie's Vineyard Pinot Noir 2022

Dark ruby. Inviting nose and medium palate of bitter black cherry, black tea, and lightly oaky vanilla. Medium acidity. Velvety medium tannins. Classically smooth RRV Pinot Noir that’s a match for all upscale fare. Drink now through 2030. — a year ago

Spirit of '76 Green Valley of Russian River Valley Sparkling Pinot Noir 2011

Still got ripping acidity, great green apple and some mandarin orange, ends with a rockin marcona almond finish. My kinda finish. I finished is what I’m saying. — 2 years ago

This wine was fun and delicious. Green apples and melons stood out on the palate. Definitely an enjoyable easy drinking wine. Paired well with charcuterie. — 3 years ago

I used to like the winery a lot, but recent experience has been mediocre at best. But this RRV chard is very good.

The fragrant nose offers vibrant citrus, green apple, and white peach with a touch of yeast and touch of crushed seashell. The palate is lively with nice texture that leans just lightly towards creaminess. 6 months in 49% stainless, 46% new French oak and 6% in concrete eggs.

Medium ruby color. Aromas of strawberry, cherry and green tea. Tasty spices on this one with a red fruit undertone.

Estate Bottled Russian River Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

A lot of smokiness with a bit cedar, green pepper but not a lot of fruits but some was in there. Color was so dark all the way to the edge. Think I need to drink up a bit more and reduce my supply. — 3 years ago

Filius Margaret River Chardonnay 2023

If you think all Aussie Chardonnay is big, rich & buttery, try this antidote.
Fresh, crisp with crunchy green apple & green papaya. Some underripe apricots, too.
On the palate this is juicy, fresh with vibrant acidity. Quite light on alc (12.5%) and light on the exotic fruit.
Would not call it Burgundian but it’s highly drinkable and surprisingly nice.

Pale straw . Lemon and lime with some petrol hints ,green herbs , white flower notes as well . Light bodied with high acidity , green apple , lime and grapefruit . Very fresh , high acidity , leaves the palate very fresh , lively . Touch of fresh green herbs on the ok length finish . Would prefer to leave this 2 or 3 years , just to fill out a little more in the bottle and will last well a further 10 or so . — a year ago
