Georges Comte

Domaine Henri Gouges

Les Saint Georges Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2005

Violets, blackberry, plum, iodine, earth, med + body, med + acidity. Tannins are fine, but still fairly assertive. A bit gamey, a bit rustic, paired very well with squab — 5 days ago

Domaine Comte Abbatucci

Faustine Vieilles Vignes Vermentino 2014

JKT
9.0

CV pre dinner tasting. Color lighter than Gavi but nose shows oxidative notes melon ripe fruits. Softer texture roundness on palate. Long grippy finish that’s unexpected. Two more bottles to try. CV second bottle, less oxidative and fresher nose and palate. Upping to 9 — 18 days ago

Comte Armand

Clos des Epeneaux Monopole Pommard 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2005

At 20 years top wines needs to be in a good place. Not a fan of 20+ aging - for reds. AND? Excellent cork. Some oxidation. Brown tinge. Plenty of tannins left - give it 10 min at least!!! Tobacco, plums, peaches? Rust. Touch orange juice. Hint oregano. Really coats your mouth. Incredibly mellowed out. Plenty of acid. COMPLEX. A little rustic - not elegant but bold and big. This is what Pommard should be classic. World class for Pommard. To keep this longer would be nuts - drink up! What a wine! — 25 days ago

Bandol Rosé Blend 2022

Best rosé I ever had in my life. Also the most expensive one 🤣 totally another ballgame than the rosé wines I’m used to drink. This is complex, juicy and made for food — 20 days ago

This wine is drinking really well. Nice and juicy but still has nice tannin structure on the finish! — a month ago

Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé

Les Amoureuses Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2011

Beautiful wine, but for its value it’ll leave you wanting. While I love the vintage for the Domaine as I believe it provides a good balance to the style, this bottle was a bit thin on the palate. I wonder if decanting would have helped it gain some weight. — 2 months ago
