Dark rubi robe, bordering blackish rubi. Nose of blackcurrant, anise, asphalt and vanillin oak. Very dense and rich on the mouth, borderline over the top but not really. A very good to excellent Portuguese red, just lacking some freshness and complexity for a higher score. — 13 days ago
Medium dark rubi robe, no fading, nose of crushed roses, asian spices and a hint of cedar wood. Very elegant and complex on the mouth, medium bodied, excellent length, an aerial and complex grand cru for the ages. No rush but drinking great now. — 15 days ago
Deep inky rubi robe, nose of dark fruits, flowers, top soil and spices. Violets and dark cherries intertwined with silky tannins and cedar wood. Very long finish, in a rich but balanced Tempranillo. — 10 days ago
No specific notes but a truly good Douro red in a nice vintage. Lots going on under the hood. — 13 days ago
Medium dark rubi robe, no fading, actually looks like at least 10 years younger. Nose of flowers and anise, blackcurrant in the end. Oh so rich and so good in the mouth. Getting better after 20 minutes of uncorking. Tonight it’s a hair better than the RSV we tasted just before. Great stuff. — 15 days ago
A bit heavy and unbalanced. Somewhat disappointing. — 12 days ago
Deep rubi robe, nose of liquorice, blackcurrant and plums. Dark fruits, medium bodied and very pleasant in the mouth, good balance and works well with food. — 12 days ago
Red Douro with Douro red grapes. Excellent fruit and worked really well with food. At less than 20 bucks this is a steal ! — 14 days ago
This is the 10 Year Tawny by Quinta do Vale Meão. Really great stuff that is also fairly priced. — 16 days ago
Alexandre Pagliano
Very dark rubi robe, very reticent nose with hints of blackcurrant. Rich and bold on the mouth, liquorice, asian spices and blackcurrant. Very long with a polished finish, opened up after one hour. Modern styled but excellent ! — 10 days ago
