Tablas Creek is the world's first Regenerative Organic Certified vineyard in addition to Biodynamic Viticulture and the pioneer California Rhone’s movement in Paso Robles AVA, which has a pedigree and collaboration between the Haas family & Perrin’s from Cháteau Beaucastel in Rhône, France by the mid 80’s.
The V.2022 Esprit de Tablas Blanc is their flagship white blend of 33% Roussanne, 32% Grenache Blanc, 14% Picpoul Blanc, 8% Clairette Blanche, 8% Picardan, and 5% Bourboulenc that were chosen from the top lots of 6 white Rhone varieties propagated from budwood cuttings from the Château de Beaucastel estate.
This is an incredibly complex white like no other; mineral-driven, savory, with a nice green sliced apple aromatic notes. On the palate, the mix of lemon and pineapple with some hint of salinity twist your tongue nicely. The overall mouthfeel combining the array of tropical fruits, herbs and the intense long, but not-overpowering finish makes it a top-notch white that differentiate from many produced in the Adelaida District in Paso. A truly winner! — a month ago
To toast my mom. — 6 days ago
2021 opened April 2025. This is a luscious wine, but I can’t help but nitpick. All the individual components are very one-dimensional. That’s not to say they all don’t work together well to make a great wine – but there’s nothing challenging on the palate about this vintage. If you like the monolithic cabs produced by Opus 1, then this wine is for you. However, I’d prefer a little more quirky individualism in my tipples.
The nose is overwhelmingly tobacco. The front is heavy with red fruit. The tannic structure is heavy, smooth, and silky. It has a medium long finish with hints of volcanic minerals. This wine is so perfect that it’s boring. If you like perfect perfection then up my score to 100 points, but I like the little challenges that quirky vintages give me. — a month ago

2022 vintage. A mature, smooth, complex CS — 21 days ago
This is a rosé blend of 68% Granache, 28% Mourvèdre, 3% Vermentino, and 1% Counoise, that delivers a full tradition of Provence with a fruit sourced from the 9 top Tablas Creek Rhône-styled vineyards in Paso Robles AVA. It provides a bright strawberry fruit, a hint of rose petals and lemongrass notes on the nose.
As for the palate, it gets stimulated with an amazing fresh acidity all combined with some soft spices, mandarin peel, fresh apricot, and unripe berries. The mouthfeel has a subtle peachy tones on the mid-range and grapefruit with some light salinity by the back-end. Joyful wine to welcome summer! — a month ago
