This wine screams left bank Bordeaux. The final blend is 63% Cabernet Sauvignon; 22% Merlot; and 15% Cabernet Franc. Great depth of flavour particularly for a 2nd wine. The medium + palate shows an inner core of strength and opulence which exhibits the class of the producer and the excellence of the vintage. Tertiary aromas and flavours. See last Delectable note of 2020. Very integrated, balanced and polished. Prompts the old saying in a London Club, “Just damn good claret my man”. Excellent drinking now but still 5+ years left in it. — 2 months ago
Cloudy, golden yellow color with pale yellow edges and a medium body. Legs are loooong and slow, and the nose is all naturále. Slightly funky but big on the citrus, especially the lemon, with a big nose of ripe rind, and hints of salt and tart yellow fruits (star fruit and maybe Budda’s hand?). It didn’t start out that way, it was all natural wine funk at the beginning, but after an hour it opened up a lot and rested into its own. Palate has some sharp acidity, ripe lemon and almost cooked citrus fruits, kinda creamy and caramelized, with notes of brandy, apple cider like hints, vegetal notes (like celery?), creamy cinnamon sugar (like a coffee cake) even a little forest floor! The flavor and acid lingers long after your sip, and leaves a slight zingy flavor on the palate. Whew! — 5 hours ago
This paired magnificently with a porc filet. A great alternative to a pinot noire — 25 days ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over a red sauce pasta night at home. High shoulder fill, but the cork completely disintegrated during removal. Juice is still drinking exceptionally well; shockingly fresh for being 40. Tons of black fruit and strong spices, with its age showing via expected tobacco and leather notes. Very structured via strong tannins and acidity; long and smooth / velvety finish...meaning this still has room to run. Cheers! — 2 months ago
Expensive but worth it. This Bordeaux is just right now. Paradigmatic Pauillac with deep brooding flavor and bitter finish. Tannins are perfectly smooth. Perfect with steak or on its own while listening to music while contemplating the meaning of life. All of the leather, earth, and tar one can expect from a fine Pauillac and under $100. — a month ago

Really great value St Emillion, opened up after about an hour and a half and drank super well. Balanced and rich while still acidic enough to keep it from being flabby. Real nice! — 3 months ago

Classic Bordeaux nose, if a bit muted. Had plenty of life at 20 yrs old. But a thinness on the finish that left us wanting more. — 2 days ago
