Bourgogne Chardonnay 2019

Jan A
9.5

This did not have the usual reduced matchstick thing going on, but more a tropical fruit profile. Nobody guessed it to be Coche at the table. Very balanced and beautiful for a BB — 4 days ago

Domaine Leflaive

Bourgogne Blanc Chardonnay 2022

Popped and poured; the 2022 pours a a straw color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of tart and ripe orchard and tropical fruit: green apple, pineapple, lemon curd, lightly toasted bread. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium with some chalky minerals. Drink now through 2032. — a month ago

Bourgogne Blanc Chardonnay 2014

This bottle brought me tremendous joy. My last bottle a few months back was over the hill and it really bothered me because I felt this could easily go 10+ years when I tasted it on release. This is a perfect example of there are no great wines just great bottles. Lovely scents of apple, lime and vanilla. A wonderfully integrated palate with a finish that makes you think premier cru. — 2 days ago

@Ira Schwartz, totally agree on your good bottle vs. good wine assessment!!

@Doug Powers I always would laugh about that when people would use that saying. Here were two bottles bought at the same time stored next to each other . Both corks were in good shape.

@Ira Schwartz, I’ve experienced it too many times to not believe it, particularly once the bottles have some age on them. Glad to read that this bottle met/exceeded your expectations!!

WotN. Super-placey without being specific. Ultra-fine burgundy that impresses by being uncomplicated. — a month ago

Love the way this has developed since 1st trying a few years ago. Lots of lemon curd, white orchid fruit, rich with flint, chalk, wet stone & racy acid — 17 days ago

Clisson Muscadet Sèvre et Maine Melon de Bourgogne 2009

Lemon and honey, stony minerality, great acid and depth on the palate, even at age 16 this has lots of life left in it (5-10 more years), very long, lingering finish, great Muscadet!! — 11 days ago

@Doug Powers thanks to a wine mentor I too learned of the beauty of aged Muscadet. He also educated me that Bojo can age. When ignorance is turned into knowledge, it can be very rewarding.

Muscadet Sevre et Maine Sur Lie Melon de Bourgogne 2019

2019. Fleural notes on the nose. Taste green apples, maybe slight citrus. Has good acidity and a touch of minerals. Very nice Muscadet — 9 days ago
