Sleep much better than I expected it’s the Grateful Dead addition and it is terrific big-time fruit taste ! — 4 years ago
Excellent spicy Zin to go along with lamb ragu with mint and jalapeño and big rotelle cooked al dente. — 6 years ago
A big Zin! Jammy notes. — 7 years ago
BBQ & Zin night!
1 of 5 Turley zins tonight. This eeked out the win for my favorite Turley of the night. Very full throttle without being rocket fuel like. Big blue and black fruits, charcoal, toasted oak, savory herb and a touch of menthol. — 8 years ago

History begins in 1885, when Osea Perrone, a doctor in San Francisco's Italian community, bought 180 acres near the top of Monte Bello Ridge in the Santa Cruz Mountains. This is 100% Zin! Deep red almost purple. Aromas of cherry fruit and unmistakable Zin spice! In the palate, blackberry and cherry flavors with peppery herb spice integrated with dusty tannins. Lively acidity shows up in the medium finish ending with a big fruit finish. Nice! — 8 years ago
Big bold Zin!! Great nose and spicy peppers on the finish. Ate with great steak. Reccomend for sure — 2 years ago

Not sure if Draper is still making these wines, but Ridge has been so consistent & solid over the years... and this affordable kitchen sink blend is delicious: dark & rich, big extraction here w/mouth coating tannins and gobs of brambly red & black berry fruit. Def some oak in this bad boy, hi ABV as well. Bit unruly right now - probably needs a nap for a few years. — 6 years ago
Started off tight and tannic with a lot of green vegetable notes. After about an hour in the decanter all the big fruit came through on the nose and palate. Viscous, but not in bad way. Smooth and velvety finish. — 7 years ago
This was the 1999 Barton Family Reserve zin. Not the big bad wolf. Couldn’t find this in the DB. Amazed it held up. Very soft for a zin, closer to a Pinot, plum, cloves, earth, apricot. — 8 years ago
2012 Robert Biale Black Chicken Zin
This is not dark, big but rather fresh, juicy and bright zin. Blackberry, bright cherry and cinnamon. Enjoyable now, but I should have cellared a few more years for my preference.
色の濃い、果実の味わいがしっかりと感じられる骨太なワインではなく、フレッシュで繊細さを兼ね備えたジンファンデル。個人的な好みとしてはもう少し熟成させて飲むべきだったかも。

For a Ridge Zin, this strikes me as a big boy. Rich nose has intense, rich, spicy blackberry fruit, accented with a little pungent American oak, and a nice dry gravel note underneath. Expansive in the mouth, the fruit is rich and concentrated, but avoids jamminess, and the palate also features a characteristic brambly component. Finishes dry and clingy, with tactile tannins (soft) coating the mouth. I’m having it with pasta, but this wine is built for a grilled porterhouse. — 4 years ago
Primarily a Sonoma Zin. A touch of Petite Syrah and Carignan are added. Big black cherry and boysenberry fruit with hints of licorice and black tea. Lots of exotic spice flavors on the finish. Medium bodied. Fresh and juicy, but balanced and especially smooth. Great compliment to barbecue. — 6 years ago
Big bold Zin with some spice! — 8 years ago
Big, bold, slightly spicy zin. Great with mushroom burger. Good medium-length finish. BlackBerry, blueberry throughout. Big mouthfeel. Also good by itself in a cold night. — 8 years ago

Big ol’ Pinot… if by name only
Heavy body….. deep ruby color.
Musty, earthy nose
Powerful Friit - maybe black cherry
A touch earth / bitter lingers. A touch of oak.
Zin / Cab vibes
Nice glass of wine…
