Trout Gulch Vineyard Chardonnay 2019

Crazy nice aromas. Quince, white flowers, lemon, gooseberries, a hint of lactic richness, also with salt spray nose. So this is almost Chablisien. But the palate is like *good* petit Chablis (and the wine sells for cru prices). Can’t say I get a ton of Cali terroir either, as opposed to a stylistically crafted “old world” wine. I usually agree with AG but can’t get on board with his score here. — 17 hours ago

Que Syrah Vineyard Syrah 2014

Absolutely fabulous. Without a doubt, the best wine I have had from AR, and I’ve had a few. The tannins have settled and the wine was so complex and mellifluous. Paired perfectly with a prime NY Strip. — 22 days ago

Great Winery met them first at „in the search of balance“ in LA ~ a decade ago. The Pinot’s gotten so expensive I stopped following them.

Sonoma Coast Syrah

Candied Violets and spicy clove on the nose, soft feel across the palette. Nice dark berry fruit but a little thin mid palette but finished long. Drank over two days. — a month ago

Clajeux Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2011

Getting a little long in the tooth, but still very solid. The fruit has faded a bit and the mid palate has fallen away. Still clean and well balanced with dusty tannins. — a month ago

Touriga Nacional Rosé

Wow this is different in 2020. Much more perfumed flowers and grass on the nose. Really lovely. Light bodied with good acid. Also some sea shell, a bit of citrus. I’d be curious to see if I’d guess Sauvignon blanc if tasted blind. — a month ago

Old Vine Heinstein Vineyard White Blend 2018

An oddball field blend but it’s a gem. A little bit reminiscent of an Alsatian Riesling but warmer. Viscous in the mouth but lots of cut. Tart green apple, grapefruit, chamomile, almond, rubber, dried grass — 16 days ago

Watson Ranch Chardonnay 2019

Delectable Wine

The 2019 Chardonnay Watson Ranch is open-knit and seductive. Orchard fruit, chamomile, spice and dried herbs all meld together in a pliant Chardonnay that offers a striking mix of textural richness and energy. Watson Ranch is the southernmost vineyard in Napa Valley, a cool-climate pocket that yields a Chardonnay of real distinction. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, January 2021)

North Coast Trousseau 2019

A gem of a Trousseau. Too young but so good already. Two days later it was 👌🏻 — a month ago
