#blend of 28% #Syrah, 26% #Grenache, 24% #Carignan, 15% #Cinsault and 7% #Mourvèdre, all aged a year in older demi-muids and 500-liter casks. 13.5% alcohol, medium-bodied, even hollow on mid-palate. It's red-fruited and has overtones of savory spice (think salami, cracked pepper and star anise) and a bright, juicy medium finish #languedocrousillon #languedoc #suddefrance #france #larsac #terrassesdularsac — 4 years ago
2016 vintage. Red plum, hoisin, shiitake on soft wood, cinnamon and cedar, coffee rye, palm bark, lilac. Expansive sour cherry, cranberry, pipe tobacco, leather, apple skin, allspice, nutmeg and clove. Really a perfect Côtes du Rhône from a great vintage, shining, deific at eight years.

Once it’s opened up, this dark #malbec #pinotage #cinsault blend presents a deep well of blackberry and cassis fruit aromas plus a slight nail polish scent which I find pleasant as it’s subtle. Less fruit than you expect on the palate, some cocoa and bitter coffee flavors towards the end trailed by soft light tannins; juicy acidity throughout. Yum! #wsjwineclub — 5 years ago
My first #chateaumusar - taciturn black fruit, cassis, sous bois on the nose. Palate with conspicuous acidity up front, sturdy tannins mid-palate on the finish. Delicious wine now but easily could cruise 10 to 15 years longer. Fascinating 50% #cinsault 40% #grenache 10% #cabernetsauvignon — 10 months ago
My second bottle of this #malbec #pinotage #cinsault blend - still like it a lot for the price. Blackberry jam, cassis, slight leather, cocoa aroma; less of the nail polish aroma once it airs out. Bitter cocoa, coffee notes along with the fruit and lush acidity and neat tannins fading into a long finish. #wsjwineclub — 4 years ago
Vintage 2006 - always special to taste Musar. Made from the three C’s #cinsault #carignan #cabernetsauvignon Mature smell with richness, a lot of complexity, the wine is in smell and taste warm as well as multi- layered. Plums also. Nice to taste Musar again. #lebanonwine — 6 years ago
