Tenuta dell'Ornellaia

Ornellaia Bolgheri Superiore Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 1994

1994 Ornellaia Bolgheri Superiore

Off vintage. A difficult year. Lighter in color than expected. The red fruits were very much alive but on a very delicate structure. Still enjoyable but wanted more from
Ornellaia. (Edited: On the second day, Ornellaia delivered! Wow. It is still delicate but in a perfect harmony.)

GG Kirchberg Weissburgunder 2015

Amazing #pinotblanc Considering it's 2015 and it's lively and fresh. Tremendous upside for aging longevity. Tropical notes of firm pineapple (not sweet, think rind). Buzzing acidity with a medium/light palate. Loved the #wine. — 5 months ago

Viñedo Culturales

Tragolargo Alicante Monastrell 2013

#Wine First off this wine has some strong aromas going on! I honestly felt like I was going to have to let it breathe for a while, but to my surprise once I took a sip! There was no need for it. Medium-light body, tannins, chewy, some leather, but enough fruits to come forth, and give it some variety with a dry after taste. It was a cheap wine and just a fun buy overall. Not in my top favorites, but I wouldn’t mind having it again with friends at an outdoor bbq ✨

#Pairing I had this with a steak salad. Not too shabby! ✨

Classic Riesling 2011

#Wine Sweet, crisp, apples, delicate, good body to it, a beautiful aroma of flowers. Without being overpowering like baby breath flowers. That type of beauty and simplicity to this Riesling.
#Pairing Well how do you bring a summer, spring, day drinking kind of wine into the fall and winter months? By firing 🔥 it up with some spicy curry along with cauliflower rice for a healthier option. PS it is very sweet so I would only pair it with spicy food or share it with your girlfriends who have a palette for sweets ✨

Château de Cugat

Cuvée Francis Meyer Bordeaux Supérieur Red Bordeaux Blend 2016

Pretty good cheapy. Dried cherry, deep black fruits and herbal notes. Lasting acid and tannin. Happy with the bottle for the price. #wine #bordeaux — 5 months ago

Williamson-Doré Vineyard 7200 Sangiovese 2014

Thought this #sangiovese was awesome considering most imports are sent with oak in mind. It's high acid and racy because it needs more time. Exceptional #wine in my opinion. True to varietal and plenty of room to grow. Subtlety damp, high acid, high cherry with a focused level of robustness, cherry skin. — 5 months ago

Marqués de Murrieta

Ygay Reserva Rioja Tempranillo 1970

1970 Marques de Murrieta Ygay Reseva

50-year old wine. Drinking an old wine is adventurous and exciting. Upon opening, it was clear from the aroma and color that the wine was still alive! We could still taste the remaining fruits supported by the good balance of acidity. The wine went downhill after two glasses. With social-distancing in place, it was a quiet night but a wonderful moment tasting its history.

Downton Abbey

Bordeaux Blanc Muscadelle Sémillon 2018

This was a fun and very cheap buy! $4 and I found this at a great time since we girls are restarting Downton Abbey!
#Wine Lemon zest, citrus, high acidity. It’s missing pizzazz! But it’s $4 buy and a great fun buy.
Pairing: Sea salt and cheddar popcorn!

Château Féret-Lambert

Red Bordeaux Blend 2015

Expected purple-black without variance. Ripe plums and rich prunes dance the dance of dawn and dusk. Dried blackberry and red currant trace their steps. Clean waters flow and blueberry and elderberry emerge. Even bacon fat. This is plump Bordeaux. Graphite washes thinly, revealing black currant and lingonberry fleetingly before settling on dried lavender and dried mallow blossom and briny violet. True to the rue. Tart cherries peek through windows in the rain-slicked, cobbled alley. Cranberry skin. #Bordeaux #chateauFéretLambert #Grézillac #BordeauxRouge #FrenchWine #wine #redwine #bordeauxsupérieur #merlotblend — 5 months ago
