Warp + Weft "Shweshwe" Grenache Blend 2016

Deep ruby; medium plus intensity aromas of black plum, black cherry, cedar, leather, tobacco, black pepper, ; dry, medium acid, medium plus rustic tannins, high alcohol, full bodied, medium intensity flavors a bit more restrained than aromas; medium finish, flavors not as concentrated or complex as aromas, very good — 14 days ago

Sons of Sugarland Stellenbosch Syrah 2019

This is a serieus Syrah from SA, whole bunch fermented stuff. There a lot of energy in this wine, tons of red berries, roses and fine young herbs, a little salty and very very juicy. Really good stuff with in the finish great powdery tannins. Love it! — 10 days ago

Swartland Grenache 2017

The best cool climate grenache i have ever tasted. Pure and detailed. 14 %abv, but i thought it has much lighter body. — 24 days ago

Organic Chenin Blanc 2019

Fresh and exotic with ripe peach, papaya, a hint of ginger. A touch of reduction adds a nice edge.
On the palate this is rounded from the foudres aging but the nice saline acidity balanced it perfectly. Papaya, peach and ginger plus a mineral bedrock.
Fresh & juicy with a creamy aftertaste of first nougat, then lemongrass and a salty spray.
Delicious drinking.

Terre Brulee Swartland Chenin Blanc 2019

Aromas of pineapple and orange blossoms. Big pineapple flavors with hints of Star fruit, peaches, apricots and bright red apple. Viscous and waxy texture with lots of minerality on the finish. Reasonable balance. Like a fruit salad in a glass. — 20 days ago

Signature Chenin Blanc 2000

My brother brought back some cheese from France. A Comté de Jura and a Salers for tonight, pairing nicely with our wine before dinner. — 10 days ago

Rubicon Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2015

The wine served tonight is the 2016 Meerlust Rubicon Cabernet Sauvignon Blend. This is from the Meerlust Estate Stellenbosch, South Africa. The blend is 49% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot.

On the nose there is cherry, strawberry, plum, green bell pepper, herbal notes, vanilla, licorice, minerals and dark rich soil.

On the palate I am getting black cherry, blackberry, strawberry, black currant, licorice, green bell pepper, vanilla, some oak, minerality and soil.

The wine is full bodied with a smooth mouthfeel medium + acidity and medium + grippy mouthcoating tannins that leaves you with a ling black fruit mineral finish. Eventhough we are still in the in the midst of fall, there is a feel of winter crisp and clean on ones face. This weekend please stay safe and healthy and let us enjoy family and friends for they are what keep us strong. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Chenin Blanc Blend 2019

Straw green. Nose is floral but not quite tropical. Green acids on palate. Very good, nice texture, not quite mature.

This has actually improved over 2 weeks open in the fridge. Hold.

Swartland Chenin Blanc 2020

A little on the sweet side for my taste. Bright, acidic, and citrusy, with a hint of banana finish of all things. — 24 days ago
