Palette features blueberry and black raspberry and hints of plum, vanilla, cedar and dark chocolate. Hint of chalk on the bright and velvety finish. Quite linear and lean. This is in a very good place now. Bright shiny color, seems very fresh. Nice nose of fruit, smoke, vanilla and gentle spices. On the palette this is pleasantly light on its feet, with soft grained tannins and uplifting acidity. Oak is well integrated. Aalto remains an excellent value. Love it! — 6 years ago

Exotic, fruit-driven perfume wafts from the glass. Kiwi and passion fruits are supported by rocks and stones.
Palette is consistent, with citrus fruits, bright acidity and persistence. Finishes vibrant. This is our fave SB below the $20 pain threshold. — 9 years ago

2007 vintage poured on December 31, 2022. Dark in the glass, tannins have smoothed out and still strong raspberry and cherry on the palette. Paired with Beef Wellington and a green peppercorn sauce. Admittedly the sauce overpowered the wine. — 4 years ago

Huge extraction, ultra rich presentation. The nose is dominated with maraschino cherries, blueberry jam, and a whiff of talcum powder.
