Very pretty on the nose. Rose petals, lifted raspberry. Cherry and bright shrill spicy notes. Clear and defined. Very good — 15 days ago

Great expressive red fruit, hints of a sunset in the farm. Taking the age well this 2011. Acidity is remarkable. — a month ago

Awesome

Domaine Armand Rousseau

Chambertin Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2001

With a four hour decant this 2001 Rousseau Chambertin was ethereally light with a good finish but not as complex or the signature sappy fruit associated with Rousseau. A good wine not great. Next time will use a two hour decant — 23 days ago

2017 - vintage - this got lost in my cellar - unfiltered or throwing a sediment- subtle spice, pomegranate, So balanced, so pretty, it seems to be really nice 8 years on , I wouldn’t hold too much longer, what a treat 13.0% ABV — 23 days ago

Love that wine.

Domaine de la Romanée-Conti (DRC)

Échézeaux Pinot Noir 2005

2005 vintage. Great fill and cork. Decanted and tasted after two hours. Small amount of chunky and powdery sed. Nose a bit musty but never funky during a high decant. Medium-heavy body. Tremendous power throughout. Can easily go another two decades. Still packing the signs of youth such as individual flavors easily evident vs melded/integrated ones. Tasted more like a 2020 vintage. Was hoping for more black tea, espresso, orange citrus peel, soy sauce notes (and there were some). This one's gonna need a bigger boat...er...another 7-8 years or a 5 hour decant to shed some of that overt power in a trade off for nuance. Delicious in its own way but not easy. Demanding. 04.04.25. — a month ago

@Pinotman /// Andreas If you ever saw The Untouchables from the late ‘80’ with Sean Connery, Kevin Costner, Andy Garcia and Robert De Niro…the “baseball bat scene.” That was this wine. Irrational and overkill. Fantastic in that space and time tho.
