Beautiful color of dark ruby with a wide reddish rim.
Strong nose of black currants, black plums, cooked cherries, dried fruits, cedar, vanilla, licorice, spices, chocolates, tobacco and herbs.
Full bodied and soft, with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate and fruit forward with blackberries, black currants, black plums, cherries, cedar, spices, dark chocolates, licorice, coffee, peppercorn, light eucalyptus, herbs, light vegetables, earth and black tea.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.
This 20 year old Merlot from Saint Emilion is absolutely fantastic now. Elegant, chocolatey and rich.
Drinking beautifully right out of the bottle, extracted and complex. Nicely balanced and powerful, with a great mouthfeel.

Drinking it with the wine maker, from his personal cellar, makes it even more special for me.
Drinking at its peak, and will continue to drink nicely in the next 10 years.
Fruit forward and good by itself as a sipping wine.
A blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. Aged in New French oak barrels for 18 months.

The nose shows some light VA but doesn’t ruin it. Muddled fruits of; blackberries, both plums, black raspberries, stewed, dark cherries & aged strawberries that almost fall into liquor characteristic. Chocolate pudding, dark, rich & slight sweet earthiness with dry leaves, limestone, stems, baking soda, sandalwood and withering to decayed, dark & red flowers.
The palate is gorgeous and shows less VA than the nose. It’s really good despite the VA. Beautiful, ripe; blackberries, both plums, black raspberries, stewed, dark cherries, strawberries notes of rhubarb. Chocolate pudding, dark, understated baking spices, dark spice that presses the tongue, rich & slightly sweet earthiness with dry leaves, limestone, stems, baking soda, sandalwood, used leather, moist tobacco, tea leaves, some cola, withering to decayed, dark & red flowers, excellent acidity and a softly knitted, balanced and elegant finish that lasts 90 seconds and falls on spice.
Already throwing sediment with the bottle half full.

Delicious. Medium tannins, fading to oak. Opened this for a dinner party which was unfortunately cut short, leading to it lingering over the next few days. By day 3, tannins and acidity on the rise. Still, a remarkably good vintage. — 9 months ago

This is right bank at its best ! Wet forest floor, mushrooms, oak, meat juice, earth, black currant, and almost a minty thing in the rear. Very complex. The palate is model of balance with good acid, a very soft, silky mouthfeel, some black currant and blackberry notes all along, some good width, some grippy tannins in the rear, that leave a tar-like impression over a long, fruity, meaty, umami finish that lasts for a very long while. Cherry, amarena and amaretto on the nose. Crunch freshly cut red fruits, nice little depth and stratification. harsh tannins which when will integrate will give shape to a beautifully drinking old school Bordeaux. — 6 months ago

Vintage 2010 | gave it two hours in decanter, a barnyard stinky in smell (not everyone appreciates this, I do), cedar very present, hints of spices and a good concentration.
