Château de Saint-Estèphe

St. Estèphe Cabernet Franc Blend 2016

Really enjoyed this left bank Bordeaux. Light and smooth. The nose had hints of oak and deep red fruit. Not too heavy tannins. Upon first sip, it was light with majority of flavor being plum. After a while, the oakiness stood out and it was very nice. Sediment present. — 2 months ago

Chateau la Peyre

Saint-Estèphe Red Bordeaux Blend 2014

A great Cru Artisan producer, this is ready to go at age 9. Well balanced, primary and tertiary flavors emerging, excellent freshness and length. Currants, cassis, a touch of capsicum. Old school Bordeaux! — 9 months ago

Château Montrose

J.L. Charmolue Saint-Estèphe Red Bordeaux Blend 2000

Wow I don’t drink a lot of Bordeaux but this was for a very special birthday and a big bottle seems in order ... it lived up to all expectations ... filled with many savory aromas in flavors like mushrooms, beef jerky, soy sauce but then also the trademark graphite/pencil lead quality. At 19 still seemed to have some years left to go before peaking!

@Sarah O'Kelley there you go. One of my favorites. The La Dame is just as wonderful and a 1/4 the price. Happy 4th!

Medium acid still lingering, tobacco, hints of graphite , cedar, and classic cassis. Beautifully balanced and structured 13% — 2 months ago
