Another beautiful vintage from one of my favorite houses.
Medium gold with very pleasing perlage. Quite youthful with a bursting bouquet of pears, quince, and butter. A touch of apple and brioche.
Plenty of tension and drama here. Reminiscent of so many previous Veuve vintages, stately and refined. More precise and focused than in other years. Giving a definite Pinot profile with a medium body and a robust nature.
Plenty of fruit on the palate with cherries and raspberries initially. The citrus begins to creep in along with roasted nuts and toasted bread bread. Another outstanding champagne from Veuve. — 8 days ago
Happy Valentine’s Day! Continuing our tradition of pulling one of these each year - 11 down, only 1 more to go after this! Reminder that we need to choose a new case of something soon.
This is excellent as always but I’m not sure hits quite the same high note as last year’s bottle. Fine mousse, nose a bit more restrained. Palate is explosive and so deep with wonderful candied caramelized lemon peel. Wonderful pairing with carbonara! — 7 days ago
Nice dry, olivey taste. Really nice with salty foods — 25 days ago
Excitement in a glass… deep ruby color with explosive tones of cranberry, strawberry, and Red delicious apple. Smooth, balanced with hints of baking spices, cinnamon, and clove. Perfect foil for Eric Ripert’s tasting menu at Blue on Grand Cayman. Capable of giving Selosse a run for the money. — a day ago
