Hundsrück Trocken Spätburgunder ,,J" 2013

Lyle Fass
9.6

Have not had in 3.5 years and wow this is drinking so well. A superstar. Nose is all wet earth, decay, sweet spices and macerated cherries. Palate is a wonder of juicy cherry fruit, freshness and layered complexity. Dead leaves, buoyant acidity and a long, lingering finish. Needs some time to open but man is this great out of the bottle. As this airs the palate complexity is so compelling. The tannins are so oh so fine. — 9 hours ago

Semi-Dry Finger Lakes Riesling 2021

Very well balanced semi-dry. Has the zesty, moderate acidity of a dry Riesling to show off minerally and lime zest notes. Finishes sweet without being cloying. — 18 days ago

Belle Glos

Clark & Telephone Vineyard Pinot Noir 2023

Crafted by Joseph J. Wagner, 4th generation winemaker, with winemaking roots in the Napa Valley since 1906. Deep Ruby with red berry fruit aromas, tea and sweet spice notes. On the palate flavors of jammy blackberry and cherry with pronounced sweet vanilla oak, cacao and pepper spice notes. Soft tannins and bright acidity, well balanced, with mineral tones on a long finish ending with toasty spice! Nice! — 2 months ago

Vintage Port Blend 1970

A bottle as old as life itself. Birth year. Perfectly stunning condition. Still very fresh, rich and opulent with dark berries, dark coffee and slight spice yet drinks with incredible finesse and sophistication. Still young — 6 days ago

Big wine that needs a minute to calm down. Not sure if it is the high alcohol but it comes screaming out of the bottle. 😆. — 3 months ago

Santa Barbara County Pinot Noir 2022

@Delectable - this PN is from different regions in CA but it showed seamlessly. guess i was ready to dislike this as mass produced plonk, but i was pleasantly surprised: inky w/cherries galore on the nose but also some tea & sassafras, bit of earthiness too - smooth on palate, generous, silky and balanced leading to decent finish. there is no distinct terroir and it's primarily fruit driven but it hit the spot on a weeknight and offers solid QPR — 16 hours ago

Hilltop Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

After opening a bottle, and allowing it to air, I spotted my review from October 2023 while sipping and reading other reviews. Holding this one for another year and a half shows that it does indeed improve with age. Not as good on day two tho. If you open it, drink it! — a month ago

Brut Blanc de Blancs 1er Cru Champagne Chardonnay 2011

Nice! Inviting floral fruit nose. Pear and beeswax with a juicy finish. Great sipping but stands up to a bacon breakfast. — 3 months ago
