Vintage 2014 | a smell to die for, with recollection of a beautiful Brunello: refined, delicate, multi layered. Tobacco, vanilla, red fruit. Colour as cola and yes, a taste that has tertiary elements. Paired with tunafish and zucchini tarts. Dutch private Berger bottling. — a year ago
Really liked this. Strong tannins but a lot of richness and fruit wrapped around them. — 3 years ago
This time around it was quite good with leg of lamb and veggies in Dutch oven! — 3 years ago

Happy New Year! 🍷
Perfect pairing w/ my Dutch oven braised short-ribs & horseradish mashed potatoes.
Dark currants, brambly blackberries, dark cherries, brilliant cherries, strawberries, iron pan, dry shale, dry herbs-sage lead, dry crushed rocks, limestone, volcanics, roasted chestnuts (a signature of this producer), some black coffee, tarriness, dry top soil, dark spices, some red to mid berry cola, red, dark flowers, violets, excellent, round acidity, balance for days, nice structure/tension with elegance that lands squarely on dry earthiness. — 6 months ago
On the nose, this is blackberry and violets. On the palate, this evokes a blackberry liqueur with Dutch licorice presenting right at the entry... Some bark too, but not in a dirty way. Lumber mill. This wine is not rustic at all but more savory in a classy dinner party way. The tannins are not the show here either but rather provide a soft bed for all that blackberry... The floral goes all the way from the nose through to the finish with a medium length. In our area this was a great, great value that I'll keep an eye out for! — 3 years ago

Mid Gold in colour - crystal clear. Kerosene/mineral notes with some chalky aromas. Pristine citrusy flavours coming into the stone fruit spectrum. Medium minus acid but medium plus intensity. (12.5% ABV). A well made Eden Valley Riesling drinking at its peak. — 7 years ago

Vintage 1997 | Tasted blind, after unwrapping I saw it stood next to Moulin Touchais. A unique opportunity to taste the two next to each other. This is true to type Chenin Blanc, with a beautiful smell that consist of Turkish Fruit, hay, honey, impressions of ananas and tangerines. Awesome balance, very vibrant and elegance. I adore this wine. Dutch bottling. 25 years old without signs of becoming too old. — 3 years ago

2016. Smokey Hollow. Old Mission Peninsula. What a very pleasant and enjoyable surprise. This was a light tart and refreshing wine. Light golden color and light citrus aroma. A little sweetness and apple flavor that went very well with an eclectic dinner including ribs with Carolina sauce and red pepper, Pa Dutch sweet & sour Mac salad m, bok choi and kimchee. Tough menu but the wine came through with flying colors. Really very good! — 8 years ago

Bright ruby red color with a slight garnet rim. Aromas of red fruit, wild herbs, forest floor and red flowers. Flavors of ripe red cherries and raspberries, figs, roasted nuts, Dutch cocoa and savory spices. Touches of menthol and minerals on the long and lingering (slightly bitter) finish. Full bodied with chewy tannins. Nicely textured and very bright acidity. Dense and complex. Part of a June 2026 KZ Tasting. — a month ago
