as good as it’s going to get, which is quite good. Purchased in 2025 for $30. — a month ago
2016 vintage. Decanted (with little sed) and tasted after 1.5 hours and 3 hours. Medium body. In a state of transition currently. Holding back a bit and has lost that tail-wagging exuberance along with some of the supple qualities of youth. Feel like this wine is on a side quest and will return to the fold in the next 3-5 years. 10.11.25. — 2 months ago

2014 vintage. 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, and 10% Cabernet Franc. Stephen Carrier opted for very gentle extractions for this vintage, looking for a balance, maybe sacrificing a bit of power to preserve the fruit. It seems to have been a wise decision, this 2014 is ready to go, fully mature, with soft tannins balancing the fruit and spices. Very good length also. A great Fieuzal to drink now. Interestingly, it reminds me somehow of Château Musar. Abv. 13,5%. — 3 months ago

Everything a white Bordeaux should be. extremely intense nose, feels oily before you taste it, spiced apples, vanilla, candied cedar, orange oil, lanolin. A tingling spicing sensation hits on the palate, followed by waves of citrus oil in a long finish, combining citrus both, bergamot and woodsy notes. It will balance out further with time, but it’s quite the experience already — a month ago
Significantly better than the 2008 Lynch-Bages I had the other night.
Domaine De Chevalier is one of the more underrated or under appreciated Bordeaux producers.
The nose shows; beautiful dry, red flowers, black currants, brambly blackberries, ripe; dark cherries & strawberries, black plum, hints of raspberries, anise, dry herbs, mid baking spices, loamy earthiness, dark spice, dry tobacco/leather, graphite, barrel toast, bright red flowers and liquid violets.
M+ dark meaty tannins. Ripe, juicy, gorgeous fruits; black currants, brambly blackberries, dark cherries & strawberries, black plum, hints of raspberries, red licorice, red to mid berry cola, touch of black licorice, anise, dry herbs, mid baking spices-light clove/nutmeg, cinnamon & light vanillin, dark spices with a little palate heat, loamy earthiness, dark spice w/ some palate heat, dry tobacco/leather, graphite, charcoal, pebbles, some soft mushroom, barrel toast, bright red flowers and liquid violets. Really nice rainfall acidity, well tensioned/structured still w/ age, nicely balanced with an elegant, smartly polished finish that lasts minutes and long sets on spice & earth.
15 yrs of good drinking ahead.

Birth year wine.
"Looks like a tricky one"... if I had a dollar for every time I heard that.
This is Chateau Latour Martillac, Graves, 1975.
This wine is slightly over the hill, but has survived 50 years. Just like me.
I'm assuming this is Cabernet, Merlot, and maybe something else. Fine, pale brick color. The nose is lively and generous with fruit, though there is a bit of grandma's basement.
The palette is driven by tertiary flavors. Mushroom, truffle, wet leaves, and pencil tend to drown out a bit of dark cherry. A little astringent. Maybe some Petit Verdot.
I wouldn't kick this out of bed for eating crackers, but I would prefer it with some lamb.
Hope you all are having an awesome Sunday!

On the palate quite rich with barley sugar , saffron , lemon peel , apricot , decent acidity , and ok length with apricot and honied lemon peel finish . Not overly complex but well balanced , with ok acidity , drinking perfectly now . Now and over the next 10 years — 3 months ago
Blend of 65% Sauvignon Blanc & 35% Semillon, pale lemon-green color with pronounce aromas of tropical and stone fruits with herb notes, 25% new oak. On the palate flavors of melon, apple and grapefruit with peppers and a touch of herbs. Medium+ length, balanced lively acidity, ending with a fruit and mineral character. Very good to drink now, will benefit from bottle aging. — 3 months ago
