Very approachable young bourdeaux blend. Again very fruit forward. — a month ago

A real favorite. What a value — 2 months ago
This Malbec dominant Bordeaux blend from Mendoza, Argentina offers a full body with notes of black pepper, plum, and blackberry. It has smooth, developed tannins with a medium finish. This wine paired beautifully with steak. — 3 months ago
Opened just prior to dinner. The 2007 pours a dark ruby/garnet color with a near opaque core; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining and loads of sediment. On the nose, the wine is vinous with notes of BBQ Lay’s potato chips (fight me), prunes, dried brambles, leather, organic earth and mixed spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium acid. It doesn’t taste like BBQ Lay’s but the fruit is definitely more of the dried/desiccated side. The finish is medium. Drink now. — 5 months ago

One of my all time favorites, never ever disappoints.
The winery, caves and vineyard on Howell mountain are just as amazing! Never pretentious or over done. Pure, and true to the artist expression from the family founders/ owners to the incredible wines! This particular 2016 vintage was at its prime and thoughly enjoyed! — 8 months ago

Second & last of my bottles. Wonderful, while ready to drink still has plenty of years ahead of it. — 3 months ago
New vintage of Justin’s flagship blend. A bit more constrained, but elegant and delicious as always. At 86% cab, is it really a blend? lol. Nice cassis notes. — 5 months ago
I sort of forgot that today marked the 50th anniversary of the Judgement of Paris and this was the best I could do to celebrate in the moment; a wine from a participating producer but in the red category, instead of white. From magnum, the 2010 “Elivette” pours a deep garnet/purple with an opaque core; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears and significant sediment. On the nose, the wine is developing with lovely notes of black currants, blackberries, Fresno chili, dried purple flowers, purple SweeTarts, tobacco, some dried herbs and fine spices with minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ viscosity and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes form the nose. The finish is long with ferrous minerals. Tasty stuff. Drink now with some patience and through 2040. Bottle No. 095/900 magnums. — a month ago

Lacks complexity but its a truly excellent bottle and is singing now. Really good wine that is long lasting in bottle. Classical style. — 3 months ago
2006 was special - had at PB. — 4 months ago
Wish I could decant this. Oak on the nose, but it hints at the fruit and tobacco/chocolate you're about to taste. Palate has noticeable but not assertive tannins and blends really nicely with the aforementioned flavors. Paired well with dinner but this feels like a pre-dinner sipper. Would buy again. — 5 months ago
So underrated and punching way above its weight class. Bit more delicate and pure than your high end Boudreaux. Perfect for seaside dinners. Great vintage too. — 6 months ago
Dry enough, depth, just delicious (with food, or on it's own) "Happiness comes..." 😊 — 6 years ago
