Excellent 08. Chave and Allemand really nailed the difficult vintage in Northern Rhône, and 2008 Hermitage is showing beautifully tonight, fresh, elegant and detailed with aromas of juicy red berry fruit, bacon, roasted herbs and smoky minerals. While not an exceptionally deep and concentrated rendition in 2008, it’s really a considerable success, and it’s fully open, giving and ready to drink. — 2 months ago
Mesquite, garrigues, fruitcake, dark red fruit, tobacco and menthol. — 2 months ago
Medium ruby in color; blackberries, plums, dried herbs, and baking spices on the nose; medium plus acidity; medium plus tannins; tastes like lavender, blueberries, dark chocolate, camphor, graphite, and clay pots with a long finish. Even more complex after an hour long decant. I love this wine. Paired well with a steak. Nellie liked it with steak. — 17 days ago

The ambitious 2020 Châteauneuf-du-Pape is one of my all-time favorites from this estate. Crushed violets, licorice, red and black cherry, ripe strawberry and leafy elements are all pushed forward. Full-bodied and savory, the 2020 demands at least four more years in bottle to start showing its full potential. (Nicolas Greinacher, Vinous, June 2024)
