Delectable has like seven different versions of this wine in its ID function, which dilutes people’s ratings and impressions. Bummer. Dense color with a little bricking at the rim. Love the classic Pessac nose: earthy, cured tobacco verging on something vaguely vegetal, dark plummy fruit. Deep on the palate. Coats the mouth with rich, earthy flavors and deep fruit. Lots of tannin still but the flavor density does a pretty good job overriding it. Will definitely age. I clearly opened it too early in its development. — 12 days ago

I have always appreciated the style of Olivier Leflaive. As well, Chassagne-Montrachet as a whole. Always, brings me back to our lunch on the patio of Hotel Montrachet during our first trip to Burgundy and our next trip having lunch at the property with Olivier.

The 22 is drinking nicely…a bit more refined than my first bottle. Some waxiness and nice viscosity. Bright lemon w/ a note of sour, green apple-the first bite with skin, pineapple, white stone fruits, kiwi, tropical melons, notes of honey, good presence of saline, sea fossils, vanillin & caramel hues, a bit of dry herbs, dry volcanic minerals, wet river stone, fruit blossoms, yellow lilies and jasmine, spring rainfall acidy with a rich, elegant, well balanced finish that longs sets on just a touch of white spice w/ gentle heat.

Absolutely gorgeous nose of cedar, wood shavings, pine, cigar, cassis and florals, with classic Margaux perfume and extraordinary depth. The palate has really smoothed out since my last bottle, with creamy cassis, unbelievable juiciness, tiny-berry concentration, sweet velvety pointillist tannins and beautiful minerality carrying an enormously long finish.
