Château Bel Air-Marquis d'Aligre

Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend 2012

Lyle Fass
9.7

Absolutely gorgeous nose of cedar, wood shavings, pine, cigar, cassis and florals, with classic Margaux perfume and extraordinary depth. The palate has really smoothed out since my last bottle, with creamy cassis, unbelievable juiciness, tiny-berry concentration, sweet velvety pointillist tannins and beautiful minerality carrying an enormously long finish. Still structured and angular enough to age, but now far more integrated. One of the great Bordeauxs. — 6 days ago

Coteau de Rosette Chablis Chardonnay 2018

Pale lemon/gold color with aromas of citrus, stone fruits, floral and slight oxidative notes. On the palate flavors of ripe apple, apricot and lemon citrus with notes of white flowers and spice. Medium+ finish, vivid acidity ending with fruit and oxidative mineral character. — 7 months ago

Bel' Villa Syrah 2020

Inky in color with short purple rim.

Strong nose of black currants, plums, oak, tar, licorice, spices, charcoal and light blood notes.

Full-bodied and bold with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with black currants, black plums, dark chocolates, oak, spices, licorice, tobacco and peppercorn.

Long finish with round tannins and tangy cherries.

This is a delicious Syrah from Red Mountain in Washington State. Rich and extracted, yet not in your face kind of wine.

This Single Vineyard Syrah is well balanced with nice complexity. Fruit forward and spicy.

I had the 2022 not too long ago, and it definitely gets better with age. Will continue to age nicely in the next 7 years.

Good by itself as a sipping wine. A New world Syrah on the nose and palate.

100% Syrah grapes were aged for 18 months in 50% new oak barrels. 80% french and 20% American oak barrels. A small production of only 3,000 bottles. Unfiltered.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

92 points.

Also from Costco. Surprised me, it's really nice. Cherries, plums, garrigue, and wet stones. Makes for an engaging sipper.

Les Petits Pieds d'Armand Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhône Blend 2023

Reddish in color with fresh red fruits on the nose.

Medium in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate and fruit forward.

Showing red fruits with earth, light wood, spices, coffee and dark chocolates.

This is a very tasty Grenache from Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel. Complex and interesting to enjoy as a sipping wine.

Very approachable young, soft and elegant. Needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly, and will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years.

Easy drinking and good by itself or with food.

100% Grenache grapes from 115 year old vines. Aged for 2 years in used French oak barrels. A small production of only 4,000 bottles.

16% alcohol by volume.

Château Bel-Air (Domaines Henri Martin)

Haut-Médoc Red Bordeaux Blend 1988

Had zero expectations for this wine at a party featuring lost bottles from your cellar. It was like a raspberry preserve that you canned 10 years ago and still has the essence of that years growing season. An unexpected joy. — 4 months ago

Thought all gone. Interesting take of Grenache and Syrah from Ventoux with a solid medium bodied still robust palate. Unfortunately it kinda overpowered the mixed menu of various eats. — 10 months ago
