Blend of Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, Syrah, & Charbono. Deep Ruby color with aromas of ripe berry fruits and sweet spice. On the palate flavors of cherry, blackberry and plum with cacao, baking spice and vanilla. Fine tannins, long finish ending with fruit, spice and tobacco notes. — 4 months ago

Lovely and dry for a warm day — 4 years ago
Cinsault-dominated rose' also containing Grenache, Syrah, and Merlot. Fresh, lively, crisp rose with a bouquet of fresh strawberries. Lightly tangy with a dry finish. Went well with bacon-wrapped shrimp tacos. — 11 years ago
I was going through my La Chapelle section today and my eyes got stuck on this 1999 - bottle looked absolutely pristine and I decided it was a perfect age to drink. Cork was in great condition and the wine was powerful and youthful with no signs of oxidation. Could have kept the bottle for a few more years, but it was probably perfect today. All the complex leathery earthy goodness you expect from this wine was there. — 2 months ago
I asked for a jammy red and that’s what this is !! Not super into these “commercialized” wines, but it does the job for easy drinking. Yum — 4 months ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of dinner which lasted a couple do hours. The 2015 pours a deep ruby/purple color with a near opaque core; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of powerful ripe red and dark fruit: black brambles, dark cherries, black pepper, boozy Christmas fruitcake, licorice, garrigue, leather and rocky earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with sneaky medium+ tanning that build with air. The acid is there too although I wouldn’t call it the main character. It does, however, play a strong supporting roll. Definitely a wine of texture. It has been a handful of years since my last bottle of the 2015 and it’s evolving very nicely! Secondary flavors are starting to show and everything remains balanced. Extended air did get it to freshen up a bit so I’d say this still has a long life ahead. Drink now with a healthy decant and through 2035. — 4 months ago
Always a treat with its perfumed aromatics, balanced dark cherry, berry fruits, spice, mineral, graphite, iron, olive, pepper & violets — 6 months ago
A glass full of violets. Tannic finish. Complex. Don’t let it open too long or oxidizes quickly. — 4 years ago
Amazing! Fruity yet not too sweet. Medium body. Easy to drink — 4 years ago
Very smooth & velvety — 11 years ago
Excellent! Drinking so well right now. Everything has blended and aged together perfectly. Oak and tannins have mellowed and integrated nicely. — 3 months ago
Had after a Tempranillo. Felt lighter. But still great. — 4 months ago
Paired with Bolognese sauce. Nice wine with food. 2022 vintage - really should have been decanted first. Solid depth and good fruit. Tannins hit up front a bit too much. — 4 months ago
One of the best roses I have drank. Clear and elegant taste. Long fruity aftertaste. — 5 months ago
Pale salmon in color; grapefruit, strawberries, and flowers on the nose; high acidity; a hint of tannins; tastes like grapefruit rind and strawberries. Nellie and I really like it. — 6 months ago
As one can expect for a Dave Phinney wine, this is rich and ripe, but it has so much more to offer at year 14. Blueberry, fig, tobacco, cracked pepper, dried mushroom, and slight hint of barnyard. On the palate it’s juicy yet soft and ultra smooth. The finish is long, candied, and earthy.
My 2nd and last bottle. At its peak. — 2 years ago
I can’t tell you how many of these bottles of this I’ve enjoyed. Beautiful glou — 4 years ago

07 is in a fabulous place, expressive, detailed and defined wafting layers of creme de cassis, camphor and violets with a vibrant and velvety palate with soft tannins and a long mineral inflicted finish. An absolute classic and an elegant rendition in 2007, and fully open for business! — 2 months ago
