History dates back to 1995 when on a lark, David Swift Phinney took a friend up on an offer & went to Florence, Italy to spend a semester “studying”. During that time, he was introduced to wine, how it was made, & got hooked. A Grenache, Syrah & Petite Sirah blend. Aromas of fresh ripe red fruits with floral & spice. On the palate flavors of cherry & raspberry with cacao & espresso notes on sweet savory soft tannins, well balanced, lingering finish ending with fruit & toasty oak. Nice! Consistent Quality! — a month ago
Dark purple in color with a wide reddish rim.
Fruity nose with lots of black fruits, cedar and chocolate notes.
Full bodied with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry and very fruity on the palate with nice complexity.
Showing blackberries, cooked plums, cedar, tobacco, vanilla, dried fruits, light earth, barnyard, light vegetables, herbs, chocolates, espresso, cola and black pepper.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.
This is a delicious Syrah from Edna Valley in California. Showing nice complexity and elegance, with a soft mouthfeel.
This Syrah from the great 2013 vintage is drinking beautifully now. A great sipping wine to have all by itself.
15.5% alcohol by volume.
92 points.

Believe it or not, this is my first La-La and what a way to do it with a 1994 no less! Flintstone vitamins, gym socks, pomegranate, purple flowers, minerals like crazy…and what seemed like an impenetrable wall of granite. Tons of baking spices. Modern? Yeah of course but my goodness the quality is indisputable and this worked really well with Iberico pork cheek, mushroom ragu with lavender and thyme. The reality is, even at 30 years old, this is youthful. Drink now through, I dunno, 2044? — 2 months ago

Beautiful northern Rhône. Crazy aromatics. So pretty, dark sour cherries, pepper, some pleasant herbal greenness, a little stemmy. So many lovely layers. I need to put a 2022 away for probably 7-8 years to really hear it sing. — 5 months ago
Very rich dark berry flavor, sweeter that some cabs. — 9 years ago

Dark fruit in the nose with blueberries, blackberries and boysenberries with a hint of vanilla in the palate. Very smooth and a wonderful Grenache blend. — a month ago
WS Top Values for this year so tried it and also because I love Syrah. Cherry notes are prevalent but not a fruit bomb like some American versions. Smooth finish. Would get again. — 2 months ago

Needs a bit of air upon opening to blow off the reductive edge.
Shows juicy, ripe, creamy blueberry with a bit of toasted and a fresh, mineral streak.
The magic happens on the palate - brilliant energy & depth. Great, pure, juicy, fresh blueberries with rocky minerality. Sappy, velvety tannins, vibrant acidity, so fresh.
This is brilliant stuff - complex, elegant, quite serious. And so drinkable. . — 6 months ago

Cinsault-dominated rose' also containing Grenache, Syrah, and Merlot. Fresh, lively, crisp rose with a bouquet of fresh strawberries. Lightly tangy with a dry finish. Went well with bacon-wrapped shrimp tacos. — 10 years ago
