Drinking in 2025. Has aged well. Beautiful and fragrant nose of dark cherries, tobacco, snd vanilla followed by spices and hints of herbs on the palate. Time has no doubt mellowed the tannins and transitions to a longish smooth finish. Acidity still present and will continue to age well. Suspect lower ratings reflect people drinking this wine young. — 12 days ago
Deep, dark ruby coloration. Almost black. No translucency. Heavy tearing. On the nose, dark cherry, blueberry, blackberry, currant, tobacco, forest floor and florals. On the palate, full body, lush mouth feel, strong minerality, with jammy black currant, anise, pepper, followed by a long finish of chocolate, forever, and hints of mint. Nicely balanced tannins. Outstanding wine. — a month ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of several hours and this gained momentum as the minutes rolled by. The 2016 “San Valentino” pours a deep garnet color with a near opaque core; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe black and red fruits: black berries, black plum, Morello cherry, spiced meat, old wood, varnish, cumin and dry earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long, tangy and slightly savory. These are showing very well at this stage and I don’t expect that to change for many years to come. Drink now with patience (perhaps even a 30min decant) and through 2036. — a month ago

Very nice. A little more sophisticated than our usual Montepulciano. Incredibly smooth. Easy going easy drinking. Can’t wait for the pasta to be done — 5 days ago
Really nice wine to enjoy with friends on a birthday. Went well with the homemade chocolate Grenache cake which was fantastic. Plenty of tannins which Improve with aeration. — a month ago
Solid red blend. But sold as full bodied, which it is not. Light drinking. Suitably dry. — a month ago
Dark cherry, cinnamon, whiffs of licorice, sweet tobacco. Elegance from an excellent year. — 2 months ago
Particularly earthy and elegant, the 2006 Valdicava Brunello displays a dark primary fruit appearance, but in its nineteenth year, it has clearly evolved from a dense, fruit bomb into a more refined pour with gentle and teasing tertiary aromas and flavors.
It is soft, flavorful, medium bodied, still well structured with light tannins and brisk acidity, and reveals interesting and savory notes of baking spices, dried fruits, nuts and herbal underbrush. The finish is long and satisfying. Aficionados of well aged wines, this is for you!

A great “uncork and pour” Toscana IGT Rosso, with a blend ratio of 51% Cab Sauv, 44% Merlot, and 5% Petit Verdot. A truly traditional Bolgheri-styled super tuscan, known for versatile, bright and uplifting wines.
The v.2022 displays fruitier and juicy aromas on the nose driven by blackberries and cherry medley, with some peppy notes as well. The palate welcomes a fresh fruit-forward with medium-less textured tannins, once it opens for about 30 mins shows more subtle ripen red fruits and becomes smoother. Mouthfeel has a soft-end thanks to the MLF in steel tanks. However, the wine was aged for 10 months, partly in barriques used previously for its Ornellaia wines and partly in concrete tanks, to attain a nearly-perfect balance between the structure of its tannins and the fruit-forward expression.
Had this wine in a traditional “Trattoria-style” Ristorante known for Central Tuscany-cuisine. Simply Marvelous! — 2 hours ago
