A stunner. — 2 months ago
Damn! It opened up with liquorice (sic.) and had just everything else in it. Mushrooms, turned earth, a touch of burnt honey and finally hiding just a hint of caramelized pineapple that lingers till the end. Sweetness only shows up for the grand finale in an jaw dropping show if how of how 95 g/l looks after 40 years — 5 months ago
Even at 13 years this is yet as powerful and robust as in its first years.
Loads of blackfruit and chocolate in the nose and some hints of tar.
In the mouth silky, long and a nice acidity to balance. It benefits btw from decanting as it is way better on day 2. — 7 months ago
Special name, special occasion. Love ‘12 CA Cabs and this one especially. Surreal power for age 14. Still dense fruit, good balance but still more tilt and less finesse. Maybe better in 3-5 years but shows the heft of a well made Napa Cab. — 8 months ago
Not worth its weight in gold nor wine. Over priced but I’d pay for the label all day everyday. Hahaha the French are annoying — 9 years ago
Dark fruits, intense colour, great legs. A real bargain. — 9 years ago
Great Beaujolais! — 12 years ago

Really good blend. Took me only two decades to try this Duckhorn offshoot. Plush and mellow tannins. — 4 months ago
Lacks complexity but its a truly excellent bottle and is singing now. Really good wine that is long lasting in bottle. Classical style. — 6 months ago
Overall nice red blend. Well balanced, moderate fruit. Enjoyed — 8 months ago
Back in CA attacking the cellar...not remembering where I acquired this but really enjoyed! Haven’t followed this winery for awhile but probably should. I don’t think I have any more of this. — 6 years ago
As always, mega solid. Def one of my fave expressions of Carmenere. — 10 years ago

Super Tuscan blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (58%), Cabernet Franc (29%) and Merlot (13%). Dark ruby color. Aromas of red and black fruit, anise, purple flowers and leather. Flavors of black cherry/plum/berry fruit, black licorice, cocoa powder and sweet baking spices. Lovely mineral and minty tones on the long and lingering finish. Silky tannins and a velvety texture. Loaded with finesse and wonderful freshness. Enjoyed with Petey and Kase (Thanks Guys) on the beach in Cape May, NJ. — 2 months ago

Smooth slight pineapple but not too tart. Buttery, but not too sweet. Refined. — 4 months ago
fun bottle - will be great in 5 years. nice pre-ripe black currant on the finish — 5 months ago
A real favorite. What a value — 6 months ago
This Malbec dominant Bordeaux blend from Mendoza, Argentina offers a full body with notes of black pepper, plum, and blackberry. It has smooth, developed tannins with a medium finish. This wine paired beautifully with steak. — 7 months ago
Drinking alongside the Sliver, the ‘21 Chalk Hill comes across as richer and more extracted, offering dense layers of blackcurrant, blackberry paste, dark chocolate, and roasted herbs. The palate is deep and mouth-coating, showing ample oak sweetness and firm tannins, but the concentration slightly outweighs its sense of balance. Power and ripeness dominate, giving a bold, muscular Bordeaux style expression. — 9 months ago
2008 delightful and easy to drink. — 11 years ago
