2020 vintage. Last tasted 5.13.26 (9.3). Another bottle picked up at $34.99 USD. Tasted over two days. Plenty of sumptuous, complementary oak in the early going that dissipates with time. Damned tariffs slid this offering from the upper $20's to the mid-$30's but still one helluva BDX bargain and a great introductory BDX for Napa/Brunello converts. Dark ruby in color with a short reddish rim.

Nose of blueberries, black plums, cooked cherries, oak, licorice, earth, tobacco leaf, herbs, peppercorn and mediterranean spices.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with black currants, black plums, blackberries, light cedar, earth, herbs, dark chocolates, tobacco leaf, light forest floor and black pepper.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This 21 year old 4th growth Bordeaux is drinking beautifully now. Still showing enough fruits to balance the earth notes. Rich, elegant and very complex and engaging.

This iconic 2005 vintage is drinking very nicely now, and drinking at its peak. Will continue to drink nicely in the next 10 years. Nicely balanced with a soft mouthfeel.

I had this vintage 2 years ago, and it is drinking much better now, and very approachable right out of the bottle.

2022 vintage. From a 375ml bottle. The St. Estèphe exception that proves the rule. Super-delicate cocoa powder with sumptuous richness throughout. Light-medium body. Cos is an outlier on the right. Surprise, surprise... Picked from the list of the restaurant to replace a corcked Mouton 1995, this was the positive surprise of the day for me. From a modest vintage, and a modest price point of around 35€, this blew away many multi 100€ bottles from the table today!

Overview
A developing Margaux showing early aromatic charm and layered complexity, with youthful structure and noticeable oak integration that will benefit from short-term aging.

Aromas & Flavors
Red cherry, raspberry compote, wild strawberry, subtle vanilla pod, sweet baking spice, light cedar, emerging floral tones and faint graphite.

Mouthfeel
Medium-bodied with tight but refined tannins, good mid-palate tension, clean line of acidity, and a structured finish that signals further evolution ahead.

Food Pairings
Duck breast, herb-crusted lamb rack, porcini risotto, roasted chicken with thyme, aged Gruyère.

Verdict
Already expressive and layered, but still in its formative phase. A couple more years will soften the tannins, integrate the oak, and elevate aromatic precision and depth.
