Lovely nose, not as floral as expected. Incredible structure, solid acidic backbone, well integrated ripe fruit and supple tannins. Lovely wine at a nice point in its life. — 2 months ago
Decided to open up my first bottle of the ‘16s. Definitely required at least an hour decant, then it really was enjoyable. Very ripe black and dark red fruit, tannins light and chalky, perhaps a bit off balance at this point, at least early in the bottle. Day two this really resolved nicely. Wonderfully long finish. Bottle time should be kind to this vintage. — 3 months ago
2013. Opened my first bottle. Wow it’s really good right now. Great nose, strong acidic backbone tells me many years left. Tannins have eased but still have a touchy grip, for a great mouthfeel. Black, red and then blue fruit. Just really enjoyable. Love this vineyard and Melka’s work at Nine Suns. One of my favorites! — 2 days ago
BlackBerry jam nose. Needs a nice decant at this stage. Tannins softened and luscious, nice acidity, ripe black fruit, licorice, tobacco. Nice finish. Gonna let my other bottles sit for a couple years. Great wine but I think it needs more time to evolve and open up. — 2 months ago
Always prefer the Howell Mountain, but the Dunn Napa Valley I consider to be a great value, especially at the price these were a few years ago. Great fruit - black and red, minerality, graphite, pencil shavings, black licorice, great structure, nice finish. Solid all around and very nice for a ‘17. — 3 months ago
Lovely! Soft floral nose. Wonderful mouthfeel with elegantly softened tannins, and a bold acidic backbone, and ripe blue and black fruit. Little camphor, blueberry compote, wet stone. Nice finish. Drinking well now pnp. My first bottle but I’ll be drinking some more soon. — a month ago
Once again, drinking very well now. Half hour decant and it’s good to go. Stewed plums, iron, black cherry nose. Black and red fruit, softened yet brooding tannins, pipe tobacco, wet stone, incredibly structured, and what a nice finish. Very enjoyable! — 3 months ago
A great wine for sure but somewhat surprised by the double 100pt ratings. Excellent fruited nose. Well structured with ripe dark fruit - casks, blackberry, stewed plums, great minerality, softened yet grippy tannins and solid acidic backbone. Lots of finesse. Nice finish. Will be interesting to watch this evolve. — 3 months ago

First bottle of the 2010. This is gonna be a really special wine but I think it need another 5-7 years. Tannins and softened, fruit is there, acidity is still strong, and don’t get me wrong it’s great now with a couple hour decant, but in a few years it’ll be really nice. Getting black, blue, and dark red fruit, ripe and juicy. Man so silky in the mouth. Graphite, stone, forest floor, cedar, hints of camphor, black licorice. Wonderful. Nice medium + finish. Really nice, only going to get better! — 2 days ago
