Great example of what a Spanna from Alto Piemonte can be. Volcanic soil, traditional process and a great family. Red berries orange peel mint plenty of acid and low alcohol lightens the package. The bottle went empty quickly. — a month ago

Red fruit and light body with smooth tannins. Very drinkable — 23 days ago
Le Piane’s 2022 Nebbiolo is a rich, heady wine, but it has found a way to maintain freshness and verve. It’s a big wine for sure, yet all the elements are so well balanced. Sweet red/purplish fruit, orange peel, mint and crushed flowers linger on the deep, satisfying finish. $25.00 (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, February 2024) — a month ago
Tricky to pair with food but lovely! Especially after it opens up. — 2 months ago
The 2018 Ghemme Ai Livelli is a dense, potent wine. Black cherry, spice, leather, menthol, game and incense add to an impression of brooding intensity. This rustic, burly Ghemme offers tons of punch and character, but it is marked by slightly elevated alcohol, searing tannins and oxidative overtones. In spite of that, it’s still a very good wine, which just shows the potential here. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, February 2024)

Amazing and unusual Piedmontese wine. At first was exposing tobacco and paper, then with small sips left in the glass with cranberries, and the fuller glass after breathing with deeper flowers and berry notes — 20 days ago
