2019 vintage. Last tasted 3.8.25 (9.6) and 8.19.23 (9.5). Excellent fill and great cork. Decanted and tasted after 30 minutes. Small amount of chunky sed. Medium-heavy body but starting to slowly thin out. Excellent colo(u)r. Alongside the roasted nuts and smoked meats flavors, this drops a current cola-nut driven finish. Smooth and harmonious. Musk, Holly berries and bramble, pine needles, iron, velvet, driftwood, hints of coffee and bold red meat. There’s berries in there, red, lush, ripe and dark, but it’s so well integrated into the perfume (and it is perfume) that it’s impossible to separate them. Like a thin spread of preserves and dank basement. Palate has that lean nature of Syrah, between medium and light bodied, tannins present, but molded well into the palate, not ostentatious. Lush, silky dark red and black fruits roll forth, along with some charcoal, graphite, blood, and iron. — 4 months ago

Original price tag, this Crozes-Hermitage is really remarkable (I believe La Guiraude is a special cuvée?), meaty, smoky, classic aged French Syrah, long finish, amazingly this was the most ready to drink of these wines I’ve been posting tonight, and the favorite of at least one of our 6 tasters tonight!! With all that said, if anyone has bottles of this wine, it’s fully mature. — 10 months ago
