1 hour decant(little sediment). A striking deep dark magenta with bricking. On the nose: subtle seductive notes of dark red fruit, wet earth, eucalyptus, mushroom, toffee. Taste: silky, balanced, fresh, elegant wine with dark cherry, currants, leather, minerals, herbs, mint, and a earthy raspberry espresso long lingering finish. YUM! — 9 days ago

2021 vintage. Decanted and passed, with high air, between two decanters four times. If it were Caymus, woulda used a blender and forgotten. Last tasted 8.5.26 (9.6) Older (60's, 70's and early 80's) vintages more fruit driven which is quite the surprise in the current Napa Cab climate. Arguably the best GDL Private Reserve this estate has ever made. That goes back six decades. Supple, velveteen entry without the temptations of appearing over-extended. Structured mid-palate. A seeker's wandering, yet undeniably substantial finish. Taste it and you tell me. — 24 days ago
Full body zinfandel. Fabulous for the stake or cold weather occasion. — 14 days ago
Just peaking in my estimation. May sill have a couple or three years before its decline starts. Opened and sat in the bottle for 2 hours. Poured a glass which sat another hour. Bold forward fruits. Blackberry, Plums, Black Cherry, hints of spice herbs that quickly fade into a smooth, luxurious taste of velvety tannins. Backend is just as the Front, Luxurious Bold Fruit but just a touch of old earth, lite tobacco and chocolate/cherry. — 7 days ago
Primarily Cabernet Sauvignon (90%) with some Merlot (5%), Malbec (2%), Petite Verdot (2%) and Cabernet Franc (1%) blended in. Dark ruby color with purple highlights. Aromas of black fruit, leather and cedar. Flavors of blackberry, blueberry, boysenberry and black cherry fruit, dark chocolate, dark roast coffee, black licorice and tobacco. Hints of vanilla and baking spices on the long and lingering finish. Bold and well structured tannins. Moderate acidity. Full bodied with a very rich texture. Ready to drink now but can age for at least another half decade. Excellent value Napa Cabernet! Thanks for sharing this one, Ron B! — 16 days ago
Dark ruby/ inky in color with a short reddish rim. Not showing age at all.
Strong nose of black currant, blackberries, black plums, black cherries, cedar, vanilla, licorice, tobacco, light earth, herbs, mediterranean spices, black tea and peppercorn.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with black currants, black plums, blackberries, light cedar, earth, cherries, light vegetables, tobacco leaf, black tea, herbs, light vanilla, mediterranean spices and dark chocolates.
Long finish with round tannins and tangy cherries.
This is a gorgeous Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Elegant and nicely balanced with great complexity.
Needs 2 hours in the decanter to open up properly, so be patient. Will continue to age nicely in the next 15 years.
This 17 year old Cabernet Sauvignon based Bordeaux blend from Napa Valley is starting to drink at its peak, although I'm drinking out of a Magnum.
Showing a beautiful nose with lots of complexity. Rich and extracted, elegant and powerful.
Robert Parker 97 points. Wine Enthusiasts 96 points. Wine Spectator 91 points.
Good by itself as a sipping wine, and will also pair nicely with a big piece of steak.
A blend of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Petit Verdot and 4% Malbec. Aged for 24 months in all new French oak barrels.
14.5% alcohol by volume.

Medium deep ruby , bright ruby rim . Exuberant and open from the first with tobacco , cedar , deep crème de cassis , violets . On the palate this is intense and richly fruited but remains really well balanced , with great freshness . Spicy creme de cassis , blackberry , grafite , really quite classic. Reminds me of St Julien with the radiance , sunshine and brightness of Napa. Fresh acidity , ripe but grippy tannins , excellent length and balance , grafite , cassis tinged finish. Lovely now , but still quite youthful, from now and over the next 10 -15 years. At Guy Savoy, Caesars Palace, Las Vegas — 20 hours ago

Dark ruby in color.
Full bodied and soft, with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate and complex.
Long finish with fine grained tannins.
This is a very young Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley.
Rich and fruit forward. Nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel.
Good right out of the bottle, and better after a couple of hours of airtime.
Not the best vintage, but delicious nonetheless. Will continue to age nicely in the next 15 years.
Robert Parker 91 points.
A great sipping wine that will also pair nicely with a big piece of steak.

This delicious Syrah from Napa Valley is still very young, and needs 5 years in the bottle to mature properly, but already drinking beautifully. Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years. Showing good potential to become a 94+ point wine.
Rich, extracted and fruit forward. Showing good balance and elegance.
I've had a few vintages of this wine before, and it is very consistent. A great sipping wine.

Opened sometime prior to service. The 2022 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon pours a deep ruby/purple color with a near opaque core; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with black currants, plum, pipe tobacco, purple flowers, smoke and fine baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. Tasty and I expect it to be even more interesting down the road. Drink now through 2048. — 13 hours ago
It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix.
Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.
Strong nose and full bodied with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate and already very complex.
Showing black fruits with cedar, vanilla, leather, light earth, chocolates, tobacco, spices, peppercorn, coffee, cola and licorice.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.
This young Cabernet Sauvignon from Stags Leap District in Napa Valley is already drinking beautifully. Rich and extracted. Fruit forward, elegant and nicely balanced. Soft and smooth.
In your face kind of wine, with a teeth staining color. Bold and beautiful. The high alcohol is still noticeable, but will integrate with time.
Good right out of the bottle, and better after a few hours of airtime.
Will continue to age nicely in the next 15 to 20 years. Showing good potential to become a 95+ point wine.

Still got a lot of life, so surprising! Still got some acidity, fruit and energy with a long, lean finish. Tannin is fully integrated, softened to the max, but still beautiful, dark, and deep with a gorgeous elegant mouthfeel for 40 years old. Surprising and special. — 15 days ago

Opened sometime prior to service. The 2022 pours a straw color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with slightly reductive notes of match stick, yellow apple, pineapple, a touch of butter (this is Napa after all) and flinty minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. I’ve been digging the direction of this wine the last few vintages. A bit of trivia, this does not see malolactic and yet has that creamy texture and touch of butter. Lees contact? Drink now through 2037. — 13 hours ago
